Chapter 3

“Miss?”

I slowly lookup and find a familiar looking man looking at me weirdly.

Wear am I ?

“Miss , we’ve reached Heathrow airport”

Oh gosh , I remember now ….

“Errm... how much do I owe you?,” I say quickly,

Act natural Layla...

“50 pounds plus an extra 25 pounds for the extra petrol”

Greedy Much?

I pull out my purse and hand him the money. I open the door and stumble my way out and notice that my   suitcase is already waiting in front of me. He must have taken it out when I was sleeping on the car seat.

“Thanks for the ride”

He nods

I close the door and before I know it , he’s whizzing past me. Wow some people can be so rude for no reason!

Over the next course of minutes I seem to have forgotten about the rather crude man since Heathrow airport is so damn huge, I literally felt like a swarny ant. Ok maybe I was being slightly over the top there , but I hadn't been in an airport for the past 3 years  so things looked so different from the last time . I glance at the the time , 8:30 am right then better get a move on.

I walk into the airport and notice that there is a Starbucks nearby , time to get a frappuccino! I walk over and see that there a massive queue to the counter. Gosh ! Who would have thought Heathrow would be so busy in the mornings... In the end I decide its best to not get one since I’d be standing around for ages. Instead I walk over to the check in desk in order to get my boarding pass.

“Hello Miss, can I help you”  says a petite woman , with a fake smile

“Errm... I’m here to get my boarding pass to the Canary islands”

“Of course , may I see your ticket ?”

“Yea sure,” I reply

I rummage through my bag, thinking its in the zipper but when I force my hand through I can’t seem to feel it. Where on earth is it ? I can practically hear my heart pounding against my chest now.

Easy now Lyla...

Arrrrgh … I can see behind me a queue was starting to form and the person behind me was staring at me weirdly. I can feel my cheeks heat up amber red. This is just great. After what felt like eternity I finally find the one ticket , in my purse.

How could I have been so stupid... I let out a sigh of relief and hand them to the woman who was now glaring at me.

“Right well , I need you to sign here,” she says with a stern edge to her voice

I place the pen on the form. Gosh why was I shaking so much?  I hesitantly sign the form and hand it back to her.

“Alright miss , here is  your boarding pass...”

“Thankyou” I say while she watches me put it back into my purse

“Be sure to look after it now...”

I simply nod back.

I walk over to the seating area and double check that the pass was securely in the purse. While I was doing this I noticed a tall man with a stubble face, sitting opposite me and was looking at what I was doing, I could feel the power from his eyes observing every move I make. I stare back at him but am returned with a huge smile on his face. I’m not sure whether I should be creeped out or return the smile back. I decide to pretend that I was looking at someone else and eventually place my handbag on my lap to make it look like I was doing something. After a few minutes of  fiddling with the home keys in my bag , I look up and find that the strange man is still looking at me , I quickly turn my head down to my bag and return to what I was doing. A couple of moments pass and I hear a series footsteps coming towards me. Oh god...
