~ 7 ~

I woke up the next day, with Tommy sleeping on the hammock next to mine. I kinda stare at him dreamily, knowing my boyfriend is still alive. It just makes me smile. I take in a deep breath and stand up, but something is wrong, the sky is gray.

Everything else is normal, but the sky is literally gray. What is going on? Tommy sat up on his hammock, "Did you say something Newt?" "Did I say that out loud?" "Well, it almost sounded like you were saying it in my head..." Can you hear me? I gasp as it sounds like Tommy is talking to me through my head y-yes Tommy nods his head and looks a little frightened, and so do I. Why am I able to talk to Tommy through my head...? 

I can hear you ya know

Wh-wha?

Then I just see Tommy chuckle and look out towards the maze. He looks around more and jumps a little when he sees the sky. "N-Newt, what the shuck is that? Why is the sky gray? I thought I knew everything but clearly I don't!" I want to laugh at his reaction, but this could be serious, so I decide against it. "I don't know... It's never happened before." At that Tommy climbs out of his hammock and just stares up at the sky in awe.

I follow suit and after a few seconds of just staring, I hear footsteps coming our way. "Newt! Thomas! Do you guys know what's going on here?" Minho says out of breath. "I don't really know but I think- wait. Shouldn't you be in the maze by now?" I ask. "I should, but the shucking doors are still closed." At that we all shift our gaze toward the wall in front of us and I gasp. What?! This has never happened before! I think. Tommy replies with I hope this has nothing to do with me regaining my memory... I look over at Tommy so we are making eye contact and reply don't worry Tommy, I'm sure this has nothing to do with yo- my thoughts are interrupted by Minho, "will you guys stop eye-ducking each other and try and figure out what's going on?"

Me and Tommy both blush at that remark and then Tommy replies, "well, it's hard to think on an empty stomach, so I'm going to get some food. Come with?" I nodded and followed next to him as Minho trailed behind like a lost puppy. Tommy was always thinking about food, so I was trying hard to stifle a laugh. 

We get there and take a seat with our food when Alby comes by and sits next to Tommy. "Thomas, do you have any idea what's going on here?" Thomas looks shocked for a second before I tell him he's asking you this because you got all your memory back. He thinks you might know what's going on. Tommy visibly relaxes now knowing what Alby is asking and responds with, "sorry, I wish I did know, but I don't." Alby looks a little upset and then starts to stand up when he looks like he remembered something, "oh! By the way Thomas, we're not punishing you for going into the maze, you already went through enough and I have decided that getting bit by the Pyrith was punishment enough for breaking our number one rule."

I had totally forgot the fact that Tommy did that. "Thanks Alby." And with Tommy's last remark, Alby stood up and went back to doing whatever he was doing before. Tommy turned to me and said, "I totally forgot that I was to be punished! Well, now I don't!" "You lucky bastard!" I told him with a smile. Just then the girl, Teresa, came up and asked if she could sit at a seat across from us. I nodded my head and made a made a hand gesture for her to sit. 

As soon as she did, "Thomas. I triggered the end." She said, "the what?" He replied confused, "the end. I triggered the end. I don't know what that means, but before I woke up today something inside my head was telling me that I triggered the end." All of a sudden, Tommy nearly jumped out of his seat. "Oh my go- OH MY GOD NO!" Then he leaned his head down to cry. I immediately put my arm around his shoulder mad asked, "what does that mean?" He just keeps sobbing and I ask him again, "Thomas, tell me, what. Does. That. Mean." "I-it means... If we don't get out s-soon... We're all gonna die..." I feel the pressure build up inside of me. "What the bloody hell?!"  I scream, "You heard him... We're all gonna die soon enough if we don't find out the code..."

Just then, I hear the sound of the doors opening... I turn my head to the South Door and see something...

I see what looked like 10 grievers rushing out of the gate... And something else... Hidden in the shadows of the maze...

I am soooooo sorry!!! For this ending of a chapter and the fact that I haven't updated in over a month!! I have just been sooooo busy... I am ashamed of myself... It's not that I couldn't think of anything to write, but it's that my life outside of Wattpad has gotten too hectic during the past few weeks... I will try to update soon and please share what you think in the comments! Ilyasm!!😘
