AN: I highly suggest to listen to the song while reading this story. It's from the amazing Mr. Probz and it's called, yup, you guessed it: Nothing Really Matters.
--------------
Nothing Really Matters
When she's okay
Then I'm alright
When she's awake
I'm up all night
And nothing really matters
Lauren sighs as she looks at her girlfriend. She looks so peaceful and calm now that she sleeps. It's been a while since the green-eyed girl has seen her this relaxed. Today was the day that Camila heard she has graduated. A year full of stress, hard work, dedication, fights, love and perseverance had lead her beautiful girlfriend to get an A on her final thesis. Lauren is now officially a med-school graduate's girlfriend and she couldn't be more proud of her.
All year, Lauren had to watch Camila put her blood sweat and tears in everything she did. Every exam, every paper, her internship and ungodly work hours at the hospital was worth the end result. They were finally really getting their lives on track. Mostly their life together. Because now that Camila has graduated, she can move back to Miami with Lauren and start looking for a job there.
Lauren has graduated a year before Camila. As a former Law-student, she knows like no other how stressful school can be, and she's just happy they're both done with it now. Within a month after graduating with the highest scores since 2006, Lauren got offered a job at an upcoming lawyer office in Miami. She managed to work a lot from her and Camila's apartment in Boston so she could stay with Camila during her last year in college. Her boss accepted this agreement on the condition that Lauren would move to Miami at the end of the year to really start her work at the company.
She reaches out to a small dark strand of hair that covers Camila's cheek and nose and pushes it out of her face gently. She can't help the loving smile that spreads across her features and feels the happiness tug at her heart comfortably. She can't wait to start their life together back in Miami, where it all started.
Lauren lets her thumb stroke the sleeping girl's cheek softly and watches her stir under her touch. Camila rolls onto her side, her hand on Lauren's waist tightening its grip on her shirt while Lauren leans her head on her hand as she looks at the sleeping beauty.
I see her face
And in my mind
I seize the day
Whenever she's nearby
It's like nothing really matters, no
Nothing really matters
''Laur?'' she hears softly and her eyes move to the brown eyes fluttering open momentarily.
'Yeah, baby? You're alright.'' Lauren whispers. When Camila heard she was graduating an hour ago, she literally fainted. Lauren had to catch her to make sure her head wouldn't hit the table and had carried her to bed immediately. The tension and stress before the positive message from her professor had probably became too much for the Latina to handle and Lauren guesses her exhaustion hit her all at once.
''I'm tired.'' Camila mumbles softly, moving to press her head against Lauren's chest. Almost automatically, Lauren wraps both of her arms tightly around her girlfriend, pulling her in as close as she can while pressing a gentle kiss against her forehead.
