I gasped at the horrors I saw.
Eld Jin,
Gunther Schultz,
Olio Bozado,
And, Petra Ral.
My entire squad has been wiped up.

I'm all alone, now.

I wanted to scream as loud as I could, just like Eren in Titan form, but louder. But that wouldn't solve anything, only actions will.

As I flew away from the corpses with my 3D maneuver gear, I felt like my entire body was shaking.

Was I that traumatized?
No.
I was furious.

I saw Mikasa perched on a tree. "Captain Levi. Eren," she said. I didn't have the chance to talked to her since she was in another squad, and also because she was a cadet. She's also weirdly related to boy Eren.

Mikasa Ackerman. I heard she's quite the soldier.

"What happened to Eren? I heard his growl," I asked, trying to conceal my quavering voice.

I had a lot of practice.

Years.

They might think I'm an unsentimental, cold-hearted brat, but really, I'm not that strong, I am just a pro when it comes to hiding it.

It's only a facade that'll break soon enough if anything bad happens.

"He's alive. Eren's alive," she took a pause, "that Titan swallowed him, whole."
The female Titan was running in a much slower pace than earlier in the mission.
The cadet was still denying it with a simple cold look. "If you say so." I said, with a monotone voice.

At least if I have Eren left. I'll have Eren.

"We still got time to retrieve Eren, if he's alive."
"He is." She cut me. She was really determined and had a furious gazed in the Titan's direction. The same as mine.

"Listen now," taking the lead as I took off with my 3D gear. She followed me. "It's crucial, in missions, to establish a good plan, and aim at a main goal. Our main goal here is to save Eren, not killing her."
She frowned, "but Captain, she killed so many of our comrades!"

"Until she solidify the nape of her neck, killing her isn't an option."
She nodded.

As we approached the female Titan, Mikasa was about to launch on her, but I stopped her in time.
"Our goal is to save Eren, and only that, understood? That's an order." I reminded her.

"Yes sir."

"You'll stay behind and draw her attention. I don't care how good you are, I'll be the one engaging. I don't want to endure other casualties today. Be ready to retrieve Eren if he's still alive."

I swung around the Titan, and hit her with all my power. I was so fast, she didn't even had the time to respond on my attacks. I felt a big drool of adrenaline picturing my comrades' faces as I continued to slice her up in pieces, putting her down. Then I was about to cut off her jaw to see if we could manage to find Titan boy in there, but then I saw a dark figure with a spot of redness approaching.

No she won't!

Damn fool. She saw an opening, but that Titan isn't a normal one. It's a smart one. It's reaction time is much faster than the others. The female Titan's hand swung backwards to hit her off but fortunately got there in time and cut her hand.

As I landed, I felt a crack on my left ankle. Dammit, I swore in my head as an aching pain slashed in my leg and up.

I finally cut her jaw to forcefully opened it and saw a thing covered in a Titan saliva. Filthy.
I rushed to grab it, figuring it was Eren hiding in it. It was slimy.
Disgusting.
I landed on a tree branch and checked on the filthy worm I was holding.
"He's fine. Disgusting, but he'll be fine." She sighed in relief. "Thank you, Captain."
"Remember, brat, always stick to the main goal, you almost got yourself killed."
"Yes, sorry sir." She tossed her head down.
"Tch."
