My legs moved quickly as they slammed onto the ground, and my friend Anna followed right beside me. We both looked back at a few people who were chasing us, along with a crowd of zombies that followed them. I looked at Anna, who was my best friend for as long as I could remember, since I was about five. Now, I was ten, and she was eleven. We were best friends, but I couldn't clear my head of knowing this was the end. We looked up to see a bridge that was broken down, but had a ladder we could manage to climb. So we did so, placing one hand after the other on the rusty and shaky ladder, making sure not to remove it from the wall. But before we were even past half way, the men were near. They were following us because we were.. criminals, stealing medicines and such for one another, but that's how we survived. I kicked down the way to get up and stared, Anna staring blankly out into the distance. She had glasses, but they broke on the way here, so her eyesight wasn't great. But I looked up from my backpack as I checked we had everything, and saw one of the men aiming his rifle right at Anna's head. I shouted at the top of my lungs, "Please, no!" and  I jumped in front of my friend. She reached her hand out to stop be with her desperate look, our similar blue eyes once connecting again, as I felt that joy once I first met her. Boom. The gun had been fired, and it hit me right in the forehead. I fell, only remembering Anna screaming helplessly, and then my body slammed up. I felt warmth, then my cats tongue connecting to her fur. My eyes were big as I looked around my pink themed room. I was safe.. it had only been a nightmare.
