Harry's P.O.V
Brooke can walk properly again after two weeks in the hospital. So basically she have to work again which is fine by me.
"Harry, can you asked Brooke to hurry??" Liam say. "We have a meeting with Simon this evening and couldn't be late." I stood up from the cafeteria chair and make my bottom up shirt neatly before I nodded to Liam.
The hallway to Brooke's room was slightly intimidating as the cold air mixed with the smell of sanitizers sweeping on my cheek and circling around my nose.
I drift to Brooke's room, carried by a sound of distance conversation. I can focus on the sound instead of whatever thoughts would crawl into my head in silence. Noise and activity are the refuges of the bereaved and the guilty. I know it was wrong to ears dropped but the voice came directly in Brooke's room and I think I really need to know something.
I hid on the walls between the door and only a few of the people eyeing me suspiciously. It takes me a few seconds to figure out why I was ears dropping. I heard Brooke's and Mr. Hong's voices, a few feet away from me. I stay still and hope they don't discover that I'm here.
"You'll have to tell me what's going on here if you expect me to consider helping you," he says. "Though I'm still not sure why you need me at all."
I see Brooke's shadow on the wall, flickering with the movements. She is lean and small, too small to be considering as a spy.
"Please, Mr. Hong. I can't do this anymore. I really don't want be a spy after all the people I love died for me." Her tone was begging as if she was desperate.
"But you just can leave the boys like that, they will be assumed you are missing."
"But how I suppose to do? I already asked Meredith before she went all nuts that I want to retired after this mission. And you know that this mission is accomplished already."
"Wait for a few days and I'll contact you." He says. "You go have fun with the boys while waiting, alright?"
"I don't have the mood for waiting."
He sighs. "You are a really stubborn and a selfish girl, you know. Sometimes stubbornness and selfishness is good because people who are brave really need that kind of personality, just like Brooke Rider."
"I don't understand. Why-"
"Why would the the boys look really overprotecting over you?" It sounds like he's smirking. "Obviously, boys act like that because they fancy you, especially the curly haired boy and the boy that have thick black hair, what are their name,"
"That was not I'm going to asked." She says. "Just how could you not felt sad or broke down even though you saw that Jun, your own flesh and blood leaning where his blood surrounded his as he sob cause of pain."
Their conversation went quiet for a moment. I picture Brooke studying Mr.Hong's face as her eyes became blurry with tears.
"I see now why are you so cold to me." He says. "Strange," he mumbled.
"Brooke, since the day that Jun was missing four years ago, and everybody assumed he was dead," he says, his voice became slower.
"From that moment, my Hong Jun is already dead to me. Even when I saw that you cried to on his chest that day, I was already get the point where he is already die as my 13 year old son."
