It was a bright morning, the sun was shining through the window as Angela was forced to shield her eyes. She hated the heat and most of all the sun which hurt her eyes too much. She got out of bed looking at the time, 6:00 AM. She stayed up until midnight working on homework so she only got about 6 hours of sleep. No one was home and no one was ever home other then whoever lived downstairs and upstairs. She had her own rules and her own life to live. Her most recent guardian, Sara Crystal, disappeared after the white house was blown up. Angela got dressed, grabbed breakfast, her lunch, and walked out the door with her backpack in hand. She looked outside to see no one on the street and she walked to her high school. She didn't have a car, and she couldn't afford one since she already had to pay for the rent of her apartment. Angela was not tall and not that short, she was 5'6, average. She wore boy clothing with a shirt saying "RIP" and a zombie coming from the grave. She wore jeans and a baseball cap backwards chewing gum on the way to school. She was intelligent, despite her appearance. She was also decently athletic and many people feared her. She was a social outcast but at the same time she couldn't care less. She had a job from 4 pm to 6 pm and took 5 AP classes so hanging out with friends was something that couldn't happen often. She arrived at Wedgwood high around 6:15 and started to read. A taller boy, maybe about 5'8, then walked up to her smiling. He wore nice clothing, jeans and a plaid shirt. He had glasses on and curly brown hair. Angela did not recognize this boy and nor did she care who he was.

"Yes?" Angela said putting her book down just a little bit. She made eye contact with the green eyed boy.

"I'm new here and well...I was wondering if you could show me around. I'm a senior by the way, my name is Miller Miller," Miller said.

"Miller Miller? Is that seriously your name? How high were your parents when they named you that?" Angela said putting her book on her lap.

"My mom remarried. My original name was Miller Harrison. But my birth father died and my mother found love again," Miller said rubbing the back of his head.

"Why so open?" Angela asked.

"Well you seem like the kind of girl who doesn't have any family. Am I correct?" Miller asked. Before Angela could speak Miller spoke again, "I'm right. I can tell by your face."

"Alright, I'll show you around, just one rule," Angela said.

"Don't speak about your family got it. Let's go," Miller said grabbing Angela's hand to help her up. Miller looked around at the few people who were on campus. He saw all of their glares and knew. "Oh you poor thing you're a social outcast aren't you? I'll be your friend!"

"M-My friend?" Angela scoffed, "Please I don't need any friends I'm just here to show you around." Miller raised an eyebrow and then followed Angela around the halls. He was fully aware of all the whispers and glares that he gained. "You're making a mistake you know right?" Angela said.

"What? By hanging out with you? What did you do to be so hated at this school?" Miller asked raising his right eyebrow once again.

"I did nothing. I just am awkwardly shy and people don't like that apparently. I also don't hang out with many females," Angela said looking at the ground.

"You're an awful liar you know that right? I know why your looked down upon," Miller said glaring at Angela.

"Please like you could know my life story," Angela said rolling her eyes.

"Your most recent guardian, Sara Crystal, had a power. Many people knew of her power of regeneration and she used it to protect others. However, two years ago when the white house was blown up the ones with powers got blame for this mishap. Your guardian went into hiding because she was scared, not because she did it. But since she disappeared everyone figured she had something to do with it. They associated you with her so they also think of you evil even though you don't even know if you even have powers or not. So how'd I do?" Miller said looking at Angela smirking.

"Spot on my man. How did.." Angela stopped as something then struck in her head, "You can read my mind can't you?"

"Yes ma'am I can," Miller said proudly puffing out his chest, "I can read anyone's mind. I was born with the power of telepathy."

"Why did you tell me this? Don't you know having powers is looked down upon?" Angela said in a worried tone.

"Of course I know. I also know that I can trust you," Miller said. Angela smiled.

"Your secret is safe with me," she said.

"And all of your secrets are safe with me," Miller said smiling.
