The Day That I Broke My Fingers

Once upon a time in third grade I broke my middle, ring, and index fingers.

So, I'll start this story by saying this was the summer of 2012, and I was at the YMCA camp. By the way, this camp is honestly not very fun for me. I believe it was on a Monday. On this day we did the normal stuff like arts and crafts, swimming, etc.

Then we got to the gymnasium. My group of friends and acquaintances had a choice of what game we wanted to play. It was between tennis baseball and dodgeball.

Now now, don't leave because this may seem predictable ok.

Alright so we started playing dodgeball, but dodgeball here is the safest it can possibly be. They use gator balls. If you don't know what gator balls are, they are foam balls about the size of two hands.

So, in the third game we played, there were about three people on my team and like let's say about 10 on their team.

A small group of them (about five) threw all their balls at me. So logically, I jumped out of the way as the balls came at me. I was able to dodge all of them fortunately, but this is where I broke my fingers.

When I jumped, it was like a dolphin dive to the side. The first thing that hit the ground was my hand. The palm of my hand was on the ground, and it started to bend (I'm trying to be as descriptive as possible). My hand and fingers were at about a 90 degree angle. Nothing to worry about.

But they were still like that, and my body landed on top of my hand, bending my fingers back to the top of my hand.

Of course I started crying like a baby. Jeez, laugh all you want I don't care.

So my three fingers were now completely, and I mean COMPLETELY black and blue. I couldn't bend my fingers in the slightest without there bing much pain.

I know what you're thinking. 'OH, BALLISTIC TURTLE, YOUR JUST EXAGGERATING SO WE CAN FEEL SYMPATHY FOR YOU." No I'm not.

So I went to camp normally for the week and then I went to the hospital. They said that my fingers were broken. Now, I hated this. I had to where something called a splint on my hand.

And the worst part was that I couldn't compete on the talent show with my group. We had a dance all worked out. It was so sad.

Fortunately, my hand healed before the school year, which was good.

Oh, here's another tjing. During that year after summer, I fell of a stool and landed on the same hand. I. Early broke it again. I am also still healing because the bones shifted, you know, and they are still kind of bent.

That's all.

Let me know if you want to here more stories.

If you don't then I won't update.

Tchuss.
