"GET OUT, YOU FILTHY PIECE OF SHIT!" a brown haired man shouted at the little girl in front of her. The little girl whimpered.
This was Aoi's life as a kid. Her parents were almost like demons to her. Aoi never had any friends to rely on, because her father and mother never bothered to send her to school.
Aoi ran out of the house, running down the street to the lake, the only place that she could feel relaxed and safe. Her feet were blistered, as she had forgotten to put on any shoes. Her hair was in a mess, seeing as she had just woken up half an hour ago. She was also still in her pajamas.
Aoi let out a big breath as she ran up to the small shore of the lake, putting her feet in so they could heal just a bit. "Hey! That's my spot!" she heard the fussy voice of a little boy. She turned around, trembling just a bit. "I'm- I'm sorry!" she stuttered, getting her feet out of the water and standing up. The little boy's eyes widened, when he saw her start to tear up. "I-I'll leave right away..." she sniffled. "N-No! It's okay! I'm sorry!" he ran up to her. Aoi looked up at him. "I'm Rin Matsuoka!" Rin said suddenly, letting out his usual grin.
"I'm Aoi." she muttered.
Their friendship started that day. Even though her parents hated her, and sometimes even beat her, she always had comfort in the boy with a girly name.
But one day, he had told her that he was leaving for Australia.
"W-What do you mean!?" she shouted, standing at the usual spot by the lake. Rin frowned a bit. "I want to be an olympic swimmer, so... i'm going to a swim school in Australia." Aoi started to tear up, her eyebrows furrowing. "Just promise me, that you'll come find me someday, okay?" he smiled. Aoi looked up at Rin. "Okay." she nodded. "Pinky promise, and cross my heart though, okay!" she shouted, holding out her pinky finger. Rin laughed but nodded, taking her pinky into his. "Cross my heart, hope to die." he said indefinetly.
He let go. "I promise." he smiled. Aoi nodded as he left. She sniffled, holding in her tears just barely. "I love you." she murmured as she ran back to her house.
Aoi continued to live on, somehow without Rin. Although, when she turned 15, she finally got herself an education. In the next chapter, you will see the time Rin and Aoi meet again.
