Tap, tap.tap!....... BANG, BANG, BANG!!

"Go 'way!" Keara mumbled into her pillow.

"Hello! Kea! Iknow you're in there so open up!" The cause of all the noise shouted. Kea pushed the covers back and rolled out of bed. She walked through the living room and pulled open the front door, revealing her twin sister standing outside.

"God Khloe, what are you doing here so early?"

"I came over to see how you were. Here." Khloe thrusted a parcel into her sister's arms and stepped inside.

"What's this?" Kea asked. Khloe shrugs, "Don't look at me it was already here when i got here. soooo.... aren't you gonna open it?"

Keara went to the kitchen and dropped the package onto the counter.

"I wonder what's in it." Khloe mused as Keara rumaged around for a knife. Kea neatly slid the knife through the tape keeping the box together and lifted the lid. Kea's breath caught. Nestled inside the box was a mask. Black. "Oooohh." Breathed Khloe. Kea picked up the card from the box and read:

To the beautiful Keara, will you go to the ball with me? Trey xxx

Kea's brow furrowed in confusion. Trey? i don't know anyone called...... Oh. Kea stopped dead and went to her room. She reached for the jeans she wore last night and fished in her pockets until she found what she was looking for. Unfurling the note, Kea read what was written; 021 116 742 - Trey.

The stranger from the diner. It HAD to be him. But who was he? Kea walked back into the kitchen just as Khloe finished reading the card.

"Who's Trey?" She asked.

"Oh, this guy who came into the diner yesterday." Kea answered. Reaching for her cell, Kea dialed the number.

"Hello?" A sleep ladden voice said on the fourth ring.

"Um, can I  speak to Trey please?" Kea said nervously.

"Speaking." The voice now sounded more awake.

"This is Keara, you know, from the diner?" She said haltingly.

"Ah, the waitress that didn't smile and refused my attempt at a conversation." Trey said.

"So it would seem, well i just recieved the mask and thought you might want to enlighten me on this subject?" Kea asked.

"Ah. My gift to you. The charity fundraiser ball is coming up and i thought you'd maybe want to go with me? Everyone who is anyone will be there." Trey explained.

"Um, not being ungrateful or anything, but that's not my thing. Plus, i don't even know you, we met for the first time yesrterday and i still have no idea who you are."

"Seriously? You really don't know who i am?" Trey asked sounding surprised.

"Really. All i know is that you're this guy that came into the diner and caused my friend to damn near pass out. Although i really don't know why." Kea answered.

"Oh right." Trey laughed. "Well, how about you meet me for lunch and we can get to know each other better?"

"Uh sure, how about the Olive Garden? You know where it is?"

"As a matter of fact it's not too far from where i am."

"Good, that's good. I'll make a reservation, right then, bye."

"Goodbye keara, looking forward." Trey said before hanging up.

"Yeah, me too." She whispered into the disconnected phone.
