I was sitting at the breakfast table slowly eating my Fruity Pebbles, trying to prolong what I must do. I thought of how my old peers treated me, all the nasty words thrown my way. I really hope it doesn't happen again. They bullied me because of my intelligence and big frame glasses, calling me four-eyes and many other undermining insults. I didn't want to go to a new high school just to have the same fate. My mother tried to reassure me that history would not repeat itself, but what does she know, she didn't even realize I was being bullied until I told her.

"HONK-HONK," That was the bus, surprisingly waiting for me. I gathered my stuff and walked out of my cozy two-story home. I climbed aboard the bus, only to find no empty rows, just empty seats beside people. Trying not to make a mistake, I sat in the final row in the back, next to a beautiful girl. "Hello, I'm Cayla. What's your name?" She seemed to speak a mile a minute, so I took a minute to reply. "K-ka-leb," was my weak response, god I hope she doesn't make the school hate me. "Well, it's nice to meet you, Kaleb. You're new, aren't you? Well, I'm head cheerleader, I'm homecoming queen, a heel in for prom queen, and I'm the student body president. Basically, I rule the school. Let me catch you up on the gossip..."

She continued to talk about pointless stuff like school drama. I somehow managed to befriend the Queen Bee. I'm not quite sure if I am happy about that or scared. A) She talks, ALOT and B) She could just be pretending to be my friend to prank me later (it's happened before). God, high school is stressful. Just then, she grabbed my arm and my attention and whispered, "Whatever you do, DON'T hang out with Serendipity Chance, she is in a gang and does drugs!" She then continued to talk about who knows what. I doubt this Serendipity character is all that bad.

~~~~~~ TIME SKIP TO SCHOOL~~~~~~
Cayla dragged me into the large building known as school, and immediately the crowds parted for Cayla like the red sea did for Moses. She continued to squeez the feeling out of my arm until we reached an official looking place, the Administrative's Office. She then marched up to the desk, skipping the line, and put in a simple request. "I need Kaleb Balc's schedule, please." I was baffled as to how she knew my last name when I barely put my two cents into her conversation. The cranky secretary simply handed her a paper and grumbled something under her breath. I was handed my schedule after a disappointed sigh from Cayla.
Period 1---- Mr. Heck, AP History
Period 2--- Ms. Gonzalez, AP Spanish
Period 3--- Ms. Conch, AP French
Period 4--- Lunch
Period 5---  Mr.Hre, AP Math
Period 6---  Ms. Rand, AP English
Period 7--- N/A
Out of nowhere, Cayla's hand attacks my shoulder with a hard slap. "Damn it, Kaleb, why do you have to be so smart. The only period we have together is lunch and AP English. You don't even have a seventh period, only one other person doesn't have seventh period. Now, come on, I'll show you to your classes." With that I was dragged away to continue a day in prison.
CAYLA POV
I definetly have a crush on Kaleb.
