The path to solace

31 7 3

My fingers tremble and face grows cold
As my emotions refuse to fold
I stand daunted upon the edge
Looking down below the ledge.

I see a blur of brown and green
A sight many must have seen
My tears cloud my misty sight
I am taken over by the fright.

The thoughts that once did cloud my mind
Return though they were left behind
In my mind they rage,
Upon my emotions war they wage .

I remember the times when all was good
When joy abounded at our table of wood
The things he said and punches he laid
Into my blur of thoughts they fade.

I pull back tears and take a breath
Preparing for my impending death
The path to solace is to steep
Is what I think as I take the leap.
