The night creeps up, upon my room
In every corner shadows loom.
I lie in bed and shut my eyes
Far away the cries arise.
The screams, the yells and sorry sounds
Through the night, the terror abounds
I lie in bed with building fear
Taking note of what I hear.
The night grows softer than before
Yet I can take the sound no more
I get up and stand alert
Straightening out my crumpled shirt.
Down the creaky stairs I walk
I hear the ticking of the clock.
Through my veins the blood does rush
My instincts seem to scream, Hush Hush.
As I walk into my lawn
I notice that the sound is gone.
I squint and look around
Eyes scanning the grassy ground.
As I search and walk about
I try to hold in my shout.
Looking down I see blood
Flowing out of me in flood.
As I fall onto the floor
I hear my killer's triumphant roar.
I reach the end of my shame
Justice is my killer's name.Gaurav Khatri
