He would always remember her.

He remembered her in every action he performed, as to make sure such a tragedy never happened again.

Today was the day. The day where he told Amy Pond  the reason he had his third rule.

Never mention the word Violet.

"Doctor?"

" Right, yes I was explaining. I once had a companion named Violet. She was brave, loyal, and really just brilliant. She had white hair that went nicely with her eyes. They were purple you see. Anyway, we had been travelling

Together for a very long time when,

One day,..."

" Are you ok Doctor? We can stop if you want and continue another time,-"

" No I'm fine Amy, just hard to talk about."

" Anyway one day we got hit by a cyberman battleship and a circuit broke without me knowing. A couple days later a useless piece on the console was broken by Violet by accident and then we crash landed. I blamed her and insulted her.

She ran, and too late I found out that it hadn't been her fault and ran to find her and apologize.

I saw her, for only a few seconds before.

On her face was a perfect image of what You imagine when you think of broken.

Then, she allowed her body to fall off the cliff we were standing on."

Amy stared at the Doctor in disbelief.

" Doctor she was a coward who overreacted at a simple insult. Never blame yourself for her death. Never-"

" SHE WAS NOT A COWARD!" The Doctor roared. " SHE HAD BEEN THROUGH THINGS YOU'VE NEVER EXPERIENCED! SHE..."

The Doctor grasped the console with sudden weariness. "Never mind Amy. Never mind..."  the doctor mumbled as he went to his room realizing what his former companion had thought all Years ago.

What was the point?
