Hey guys, I'm sorry but I'm just gonna skip to New Years because I'm anxious to write this part. Don't worry, I'll fill you in on everything, but I have a question.
What should I call you guys (the ones who read my books)? Like the Crystals or something. Is love to hear replies in the comments! Thanks!

So basically Kyo and Melanie got closer (basically Kyo likes Melanie and Melanie likes Kyo). Melanie kept her past a secret and only told Juane. Blah blah blah happened and we're here now.
•Melanie's POV•
When I walked home I didn't expect the news that Kyo, Yuki, and Shigure were leaving to go to a New Years banquet. I plastered a smile in my face. I was just hoping I could spend this New Years with them, considering New Years is my birthday and it holds so many dark memories.
As they leave, Tohru and I stay making cakes and playing cards. "So Tohru, what are your resolutions this year?" I ask.
•Kyo's POV•
As we walk to the New Years Banquet, the Juane kid walks up. "Where are you going? Getting Melanie a present?" He asks. "For what occasion?" Yuki asks. I cross my arms. "Her birthday." He says as if it's obvious.
"IT'S HER BIRTHDAY?!" I scream. "Yeah, I was just going over there to give her a present and help her feel better." He says. "About what?" Yuki asks. "Last year, on her birthday, her mother rejected her because of the curse. She's been homeless up until you guys let her live there." He says, walking towards the house again.
"I'm gonna get her a present, and I'M NOT GOING!" Yuki and I yelled in unison, and we ran to the store.
•Melanie's POV•
As Tohru and I put down our cards and went to check on the cheesecake, Kyo and Yuki burst through the doors. "They do this every year." Tohru told me. "This is for you, Miss Dare." Yuki said, handing me a little gold box. "What? Why?" I ask, confused. Before Yuki could speak, Kyo pulled me out of the house.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Kyo asked. "Tell you what?" I asked. There's no way he knows. "It's your birthday!" He knows. "Because I didn't want you to get me presents! You're already letting me live with you!" I say.
"You had the worst birthday of your whole life last year and you don't even want presents this year?!" He asks/yells. "I-I..." I stutter, tears falling down my face. "Look, just forget I said anything, ok? Here's your present." He says, handing me a blue box. I open it, and inside is a pearl necklace with a blue fox engraved on one of the pearls. "I can't accept this. It's too much." I say, shutting the box. "No, you're gonna take it. Now let's go eat some of those cakes you and Tohru made." He says. He's trying to make me feel better. "Ok."
