Stiff, fancy clothing? Check. Flowers in hand? Check. All he needed now was to have himself mentally prepared, which... Wasn't going to happen anytime soon. Kiku swore he was standing anxiously at the door for five minutes before he began to knock. How could he do this without panicking?
Arthur heard a knock at the door, and stood up, stretching afterwards. "I'm coming," he called out, before reaching for the doorknob and unlocking it. Arthur swung open the door, smiling at Kiku. "Ah, hello!" His eyes looked down at the flowers, and he stayed silent, confused to what was happening. Arthur tilted his head.
Panic remained in his eyes for just a moment, but he eventually swallowed and gave Arthur a small, anxious smile. "Hello. I... Wanted to, uh..." With every word he uttered, he internally cringed. He was sure he sounded like an idiot. "...Give you these. For being so kind to me even when I'm irritating, and for everything else... If you're comfortable with accepting them, of course..." Kiku held out the bouquet, his eyes focused on some point far from where Arthur was.
Arthur blushed faintly at how adorable Kiku was being, and smiled even more. "Thank you," he murmured, grabbing the bouquet. "You're not irritating, chap. No worries. I like being around you." Arthur replied, gently laughing. "Please come inside? We can be alone together, just like you told me not too long ago." he grinned, and stepped aside, the door wide open.
He let out a long sigh of relief, finally gathering the courage to face Arthur properly. A small smile found its way onto his face and he nodded. "Yes... Alright. Thank you, Arthur, very much." Still a bit dizzy from the nervousness, he stepped inside, only to look at the other. He didn't even know, himself, why he wore such formal attire; Arthur would appreciate the generosity regardless of his appearance. That in mind, the smile grew a bit.
Arthur looked down at Kiku, taking in his appearance. "Your suit is fantastic," he said as he shut the door, a smirk playing at his lips. "Just makes you even more attractive." Arthur added. He brought the bouquet up to his face, smelling the lovely flowers. "I'll get a vase for these, yeah?" Arthur said as he began walking to his kitchen, incredibly happy.
A dark blush dusted his cheeks, and his smile yet again became a nervous one. He looked down at his tie--which was already in place--and pretended to adjust it, just to distract himself. "Ah... That is very kind of you to say; I'm flattered. Thank you." He swore that his heart was beating so rapidly that it could burst. Arthur was always capable of making his heart beat a mile a minute. When he walked to the kitchen, the dark haired man was thankfully able to gather himself.
"Just saying the truth, dear Kiku," Arthur replied, and took out a vase. Once it was filled with water, he set it on the counter, carefully placing the flowers in it. "It was incredibly sweet of you to drop by." Arthur told Kiku, and set it on the middle of his table. He stood back, admiring them for a moment. He looked back at the man, and motioned him to come. "You mustn't be so nervous around me, Kiku." Arthur smiled softly.
Kiku chuckled at himself, turning and facing Arthur. "I always enjoy visiting." He rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly and walked over to the table; standing beside him. "It's hard not to, you know. You and your sweet, flattering comments and your lovely smile always seem to make me anxious." He smiled at the taller blond, then turned to the flowers. He was quite happy that Arthur liked them.
Arthur turned to look down at Kiku, blushing even more. "You should smile more often. It just makes you even more cute than usual," he murmured, and winked. "I ought to express how I feel as well.." Arthur thought out loud, and ran his fingers through his hair. "Kiku, would you like to go on a date with me?"
There came another flirtatious remark. Kiku blushed darkly, though his eyes lighted up at Arthur's query. Suddenly, it felt like sparks were running throughout his body. He was dizzy with happiness. He nodded and took a deep breath, and when he exhaled, a smile appeared on his lips. "How could I not? I would love to, Arthur."
Arthur's eyes lit up as well, and he wrapped his arms around Kiku's torso. "I'm so glad," he murmured lovingly, and planted a kiss on his forehead. Arthur did all of this without thinking through it, but he just couldn't not show lovely Kiku his undying affection for him.
He chuckled softly, embracing Arthur tightly. Kiku set his head comfortably on Arthur's chest and closed his eyes in contentment. He, honestly, was ecstatic--but he managed to keep himself together. "I had a whole speech planned on how I would confess my feelings to you, but I panicked once you opened the door... I was so fearful that you didn't reciprocate my feelings..."
Arthur hummed and rested his chin on Kiku's head. "Really?" he asked, thinking about how adorable that is. Ah, everything Kiku does is adorable. Arthur was in love with him. "I've had these feelings for you for quite a while," the blond admitted.
"I did, but... It was probably a bit too cheesy." He chuckled, nuzzling his face into his chest. Kiku realized that his favorite place in the world had to be in Arthur's arms. "I confess, I realized I had affections for you a while ago, as well. I remember one day it was pouring outside, and we were rushing back to your home so we wouldn't get soaked... We eventually reached your house and you and I were drenched. We laughed at our situation, and I think that was the day I was aware of the fact that I loved you."
Arthur was speechless. He tightened his warm, protective embrace around Kiku. "..I love you so much." was all that Arthur managed to whisper out, due to the fact that his heart was racing. No one had ever told him anything like that. The fact that it was the man he loved made his heart ache in a good manner.
He smiled softly and held him just as tightly, opening his eyes. Arthur's words and actions made his heart soar. There were a billion thoughts racing through his mind, but all he could focus on was the fact that Arthur loved him. "I love you, too, Arthur. More than anything," Kiku whispered in reply.
Arthur gently pulled back, and tilted Kiku's chin upward in order for them to make eye contact. "Those words said by you make me the happiest man to ever live," he murmured, gazing into his breathtaking eyes.
"Do they?" Kiku smiled, staring back into Arthur's lovely green eyes. His eyes were one of the many things Kiku loved about him. He swore he could get lost in them. "I don't think that's possible, love, because you make me the happiest man to ever live."
Arthur let out an affectionate laugh, and slowly leaned forward. "They do. Does this prove it?" he whispered, fluttered his eyes closed, and gently pressed his lips against Kiku's. He cupped his cheek, and brushed his thumb against it. After a few moments, he pulled back.
As soon as their lips touched, Kiku felt almost overwhelmed with emotions and feelings. The sparks running through his body, now, felt like fireworks, and his happiness multiplied tenfold. When he pulled back, he opened his eyes, and looked at Arthur. The man he loved kissed him, and he could hardly believe it. "...I'm in love with you."
"As am I, and I'm so glad.." Arthur cooed, and smiled down at him. "I've never been this happy," he murmured. Truthfully, Arthur hadn't. His life consisted of shooing others away and constantly being annoyed. That wasn't the case when Kiku was around, though.
He smiled back warmly, and stood on his tiptoes; placing a peck on Arthur's lips. Again, every time their lips touched, his heart would skip a beat. He wasn't sure if he would ever be able to get used to kissing him. "I never thought I'd be this happy in my life. I was always afraid I wouldn't be able to be in your arms like this, but now I suppose those worries are gone."
"Those worries are definitely gone," Arthur softly replied, unable to take his gaze away from Kiku. He'd never get tired of looking into those eyes, those rosy lips, those cute lashes, his personality...his entire being in general. "Because I won't ever leave your side." Arthur vowed. He would truly make sure his beloved Kiku was happy at all times.
