Today, you graduated from the military academy for naval officers. You were in disbelief when you were informed that you had the highest marks in the academy and even more shocked when you were personally told by the Emperor that you would be automatically ranked as a naval commander upon deployment. You were assigned to the island known as "the naval district" and would learn and command alongside the Admiral there. From what everyone knows of him, he's a living legend. From what you know of him, he's a dorkish comedian whenever he can be, and when he is serious, then he can be the most caring commander on the field. Plus, he's been raising you as well as teaching you since you were adopted.
The Naval district was already informed about your deployment and would have an office ready for you upon arrival. You were going to leave tomorrow morning at about 10:00. You were just in a meeting with the Emperor and a few of the high ranked officers. They were all intrigued with you and how you would react in a real situation, one of the admirals was even a bit jealous that someone so fresh to commanding jumped the rank ladder so much. The only person you actually wanted to see there was the admiral you would be serving alongside, instead he was making sure the means of getting to The Naval District would be thoroughly planned out and safe for you.

Now though, you were on your way to your dorm at the academy. It was midday and you had a lot to pack.


(Y/n) thinks to himself as he finishes the mess hall's stale coffee and throws it into the nearest bin. 'I can't believe it...I'm actually going to be a commander. Not only that, but I'm going to be a commander alongside the admiral from hell himself! And I'm assigned a fleet already? Jeez, my head's spinning just thinking about the events that are happening so fast.'
You get to your room and almost immediately begin packing your things. About half an hour later you hear a knock on the door as it opens revealing the Admiral, finally coming to make an appearance.

"Admiral Authement, sir. " you respectfully snap to a salute and he salutes back and chuckles a bit before nonchalantly saying "at ease (y/n)...you're going to be the same rank as me anyways" You get a bit flustered from the realization and mutter out a simple "O-oh...that's right isn't it" you give a slight chuckle and rub the back of your neck as he looks at you sternly - the almost cold expression he uses whenever he's either giving orders, or going over battle plans "(Y/n), although you already know the basics of today, I just want to reiterate the details. You'll be accompanying me to the Island where you will shadow me for a few weeks." you nod as he hands you some documents and as you lightly skim over them while he continues "After an on site evaluation, you will be officially receiving the Rank of Admiral. But we will talk about that more later. Right now, we currently have 4 of your ship squad with us. They will be accompanied by Nagato and Fubuki from my fleet and are ordered to escort us to The Naval District. Understood?" you can only nod again as you look over the map and notes of the path to the Island from your current station. You also notice that his demeanor is already going back to it's usual self "Good... good. We'll be departing at 10:00 tomorrow, but in the meantime I want you to look over the files we had on hand for your squad." you flip through the documents and notice that four dossiers that contain the stats of the four ships that are assigned to you.

"T-thank you, sir," you say as you become focused on the documents

Authement crosses his arms and leans against the door frame

"It's not a problem, but just make sure that you treat them with respect. Oh and the main reason that we gave them over to you early, was so that you could get acquainted with them." he teasingly says as he pats you on the back, seemingly completely back to his usual self, before heading out of the door "and one more thing...stop being so damn shy around the ships." He jokingly says as he walks off, leaving you to blush a little before sitting down pondering on what you should do. The idea of trying to meet the ships now did sound good, but you still had a lot to pack. You would just wait until tomorrow to see the ships. The names on the dossiers that you have received are Tenryuu, Tatsuta, Bismarck, and Prinz Eugen. You'll also get Shimakaze and a new prototype when you get to the island.

(Obligatory Authors Note - I think this version is a lot better, but I do want your input on it. I'm going to be working on chapter 2 as soon as this is posted. Don't expect too many notes from me on any of these chapters, since I don't want to inflate too much of the word counts. Oh, and I'm more than happy to listen to any and all criticisms and/or suggestions, so please comment and tell me about ideas or improvements to be made. Thanks again, guys)
