"Why'd director need us?" Timothy McGee asked as they walked up the stairs. "Beats me. But I hope it's important, I had to wake up early for this." Anthony DiNozzo Jr said as he followed McGee and Gibbs, Ziva behind him.
"Hey guys. Director need you guys too?" Abby Sciuto said as she walked up next to Gibbs. "He needed all of us, Ms Sciuto. The whole team. It must be very important." Dr Donald Mallard said as he walked up with Jimmy Palmer followed him.
They all walked into Director Leon Vance's office where they all looked a little wide eyed. Standing there in a line, were seven dogs with Director Vance to the side of them.
"Agents. Meet your new part of your team." Vance said, motioning toward the dogs. The biggest dog, a white one with brown on its back, stood straight and tall, eyes steady.
"This is what you made me get up so early for?" Tony asked, making Vance give him a look. Tony coughed a 'sorry' and shut up.
"After the last case, the FBI agreed to get the best dogs they had to put apart of this team. Meet the KCTS, K-9 Criminal Tracking Services. You will each be assigned one, and you better not abuse this 'power'. They are trained dogs, not chihuahua's or lap dogs." Vance explained.
"Last time we came in contact with dogs, it didn't go well." Tony said, glancing at McGee who rolled his eyes. "I assure you, these dogs are for your protection. They won't attack any one that they are assigned to." Vance said.
"So, who get who?" Tony asked. "DiNozzo, you are assigned to K-9 Titan." A brown dog with a whit belly and chest walked up to Tony and sat in front of him, wagging its tail. "Titan? An awesome name for a bad ass dog." Tony said, smirking while kneeling to the dog. She wagged her tail excitedly.
"Palmer, you are assigned to K-9 Tank." A pure white German shepherd trotted up to Palmer and sat next to him, tilting his head curiously up at him. "Dr Mallard, with K-9 Dart." A brown short dog trotted up next to Ducky.
"Ziva, with K-9 Zoey." A blonde and brown dog with a white belly and chest trotted up to Ziva, wearing the necklace that had the Star of David on it. "McGee, with K-9 Tixie." A light brown dog with a white belly and chest walked up to McGee.
"Abby, with K-9 Archer." A black dog walked up to Abby, making her grin like a child.
"And Gibbs, with K-9 Lily." The biggest dog, the white one, walked up to Gibbs and sat next to him.
"You are all dismissed."
~
"It's cool having a dog. They're so fun." Tony said, wrestling Titan on the floor. Titan gnawed on Tony's arm as he scratched her neck. She wiggled around to get out of his hold and eventually shot up, accidentally butting heads with Tony.
Tony fell back on his butt, holding his head in pain. Titan immediately shot up on all fours and ran beside him, licking his face and whining apologetically. McGee smirked as Tixie sat up next to him.
"I'm okay, so wipe that smirk of your face." Tony said, sitting up and glaring at McGee. Ziva chuckled amusingly as Zoey sat next to her. Titan rubbed her head against Tony, nudging him up.
"Get up, DiNozzo. We got a dead Marine." Gibbs said as he walked in, Lily following behind him. All the dogs had a collar with 'NCIS' across it. Tixie had a tie around her neck, Archer had a spiked collar, and Zoey had the Star of David necklace, since she was in Israel with her original owner (they were Jewish)
Tixie always had the tie, since she used to be a street dog that hung out around a clothes store, where they gave her old, worn out clothes to chew on. But the tie, she actually liked, and put it on one day and left it on since then.
"What'd we have, boss?" Titan asked Lily as she trotted up next to her, DiNozzo close behind. "A dead Marine. Ducky, Darts, Palmer, and Tank are meeting us there." Lily answered as they went into the elevator.
~
"Zoey, search the body for clues. Titan, search for scents. Tixie, help McGee with whatever he needs." Lily ordered as they jumped out of the van. "On it boss!" Titan exclaimed as she dashed after Tony, over to the body.
"Tank, Darts, what'd you got?" Lily asked as she walked up to Tank and Darts. "The scent is faint, it must be a good 48 hours since the death. Bullets were dry, with no smell of gun powder, which tells us it was not recent too." Darts explained. "And the skin was cold, due to drop in temperature, which numbed most pain for the victim." Tank said quickly.
"Correct, Miss Tank." Darts said. "Then go help Ducky and Palmer while I look around. Thanks guys." Lily said. "Any day Lily." Darts called as Tank wagged her tail happily.
"Hey boss, I got something." Titan called. Lily walked over, looking at the marines body. A male, in at least his late 20's. "There's a dog scent. Most recent, at least a week ago." Titan explained as Lily sniffed the body. "He must have been a dog trainer in the Marines." Zoey said.
"That's not all. McGee found a bloody, snapped in half dog collar. Nothing on it, just plain black. It was a couple feet away from the body. The smell was covered up by something, some kind of weird odor." Tixie explained as she walked up, dropping the black collar at Lily's feet.
Lily sniffed it. "Like a warehouse scent. I was stuck in one for days, I know a warehouse scent when I smell one. Smell of concrete and sweat." Titan said. "So, any warehouses around here?" Zoey asked. "There's one downtown, but it's been abandoned for years. It used to be for construction vehicles." Tixie said.
"Then maybe it's not abandoned anymore. Good work, pack." Lily said, sticking her nose in the pockets of the Marine's pants. She pulled pulled out his wallet and flipped it open to see his Marine dog trainer ID.
She bite carefully down into it and trotted up to Gibbs. She nudged his hand. Gibbs thanked the cop he was talking to before turning around to her. He took the wallet from her and studied the ID.
"Good girl." He said, rubbing her head before walking over to Tony. Lily followed, going to investigate some more.
The white one is Lily, brown one is Titan, and light colored one is Zoey!^ btw, 'Tixie' is pronounced like 'Pixie' but with a T!
