Zayn's P.O.V.:

I woke up by the annoying sound of my alarm clock. Ugh, school was starting again. I really didn't want to go to school. School just meant less spare time and more stress, and I really didn't need any more of that.

But I'll try and get through this year too, I said to myself.

I shut off my still ringing alarm clock and reluctantly swept my legs over the edge of my bed, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes. I was so tired, even though I had slept more than usual, due to my father going to sleep very early yesterday.

I got up and walked over to my closet, thinking about what to wear today. I didn't want to make a bad impression on the first day for any new teacher. I really didn't need anymore that thought I was an ungrateful, lazy rat.

After I chose a just a plain white shirt, a black sweater and a pair of black jeans, I went to my sister's rooms to wake them up because they had to go to school and kindergarten.

Safaa was the youngest with her 5 years and she was the only one who wasn't already in school. Waliyha was 7 and Doniya was the oldest, 13 years of age.

Today was Waliyha's first day of school, the same one Doniya went to.

"Doniya! Get up!" I said to her and shook her. She always took the longest in the bathroom. Girls... I couldn't believe she was already 13! She would probably have her first boyfriend soon.

I sounded like a mother. But  in a way, I felt like it,because I always took care of them, when Mum was on another business trip.

"Leave me alone, peasant." She growled and put her pillow over her head to block out any noise. "Come on, Doniya! You need to get ready for school." I pulled away her blanket and walked with it out the room. I knew she would just get it again and continue to sleep, if I left it in somewhere in her room.

"Waliyha!" I yelled, walking into her room. I saw her lifting her head, her hair a complete mess. She had always been a restless sleeper.

"Whaaa?" She mumbled perplex. "First day of school you gotta get ready, if you dont wanna be late." I told her, ruffling her hair and then went to Safaa's room.

Almost her whole room was in pink. She was such a girly girl, but that was just one of the many reasons why I loved her. I gently shook her shoulder. "Huh?" She asked, still half asleep. "You need to get up and get ready. I'm gonna make breaksast for you." I said to her. She nodded groggily her head. "Kay Zaynie." Aw. She was so cute. I lightly kissed her head and walked out the room to the kitchen to make breakfast for them.

I hoped that dad wouldn't wake up until we were out of the house. Even though he was rather nice to my sisters, I still felt uncomfortable around him, being aware of what he was capable of.

I got four bowls and four spoons along with milk and cereal out the cabinets in the kitchen and set everything on the table. Since we didn't have much time, because of school, I didn't bother making pancakes. They would have to wait for the next weekend for them. They seriously were in love with pancakes. They would still eat them even if they were laying on the floor before. I didn't know if I should feel disturbed by this or if I should just ignore it.

A few minutes later Waliyha and Safaa already walked in fully dressed. Doniya was probably still in the bathroom. I don't think I will ever understand girls, I thought to myself.

"Morning, girls." I chirped as happy as I could. But for some reason I didn't even need to pretend in front of them sometimes. They always made me happy just by being there.

"Why don't we get pancakes?" They both complained at the same time. I knew this would happen. "Maybe I'll make you some after school, okay?" I suggested. I couldn't stand the sad look in their eyes. It was like kicking a little cute puppy, impossible.
