A few days later, Paisley was sitting in her room on her laptop. She watched and rewatched the video of her singing. The video had gotten over 5,000 views and 2,000 likes. Whenever the screen was refreshed, more comments of, "Post more!" And "Do this song please!" popped up. She and Cole had thought about recording another video, maybe recording her beanbag chair or her pet fish, "Bubbles" but with Paisley singing in the background.
After Cole had shown Paisley her video a few days ago, Paisley had been frightened. No, mortified. She rarely talked to him and in school and choir, she hardly spoke. She was scared. She was afraid if someone thought her voice was shaky. She could point out countless times where it was. And if she was a bit pitchy. She could find at least six times where her voice was a little off.
There were a few days where she blamed Cole for her insanity and obsession with the stupid video. But then she realized it didn't matter. Nothing could be changed no so what was the point in worrying?
Paisley typed Cole's number into her phone.
"Hello?" He answered.
"Hey Cole? I think I'm ready to record another video. Just help me figure out what song," she spoke softly.
"Seriously, Pais? We don't have to if you don't want to," he said, sweetly.
"No. I think Melody's fans deserve a little more," she said. Cole could hear the smirk in Paisley's voice.
"Okay! I'll be over in ten," he said, "just let me finish my chem homework."
"Okay. See ya then," Paisley said.
