Dipper knew everyone in Gravity Falls by then, not counting the monsters.

There's the Northwests, lounging in their extensive (and expensive), mansion;

Blubs and Durland, two cops who were probably very in love but no one knew for certain;

Old Man McGucket, who once nearly devoured he, Mabel, and Soos with a mechanical Nessie;

Lazy Susan, who is kindly;

Wendy's family, who are most likely close descendants of Paul Bunyan;

There's Robbie and the gang, up to no good;

The newly elected Mayor, who goes and "gets 'em".

Candy and Grenda, too (Mabel's right hand women).

Dipper knew just about everyone in Gravity Falls. He knew every little secret, every nook and cranny. He knew the minute the wind changed, and the weathervane spun on it's axis, that something was amiss in the rural town.

A rickety old car (a distasteful yellow color), loaded with suitcases and baggage, chugged it's way down Main Street, and everyone on the sidewalk stopped in their tracks and stared. A chill blew through the streets.

Dipper was walking to the Mystery Shack from school with Mabel when he saw the car turn a corner.

"Hey, we have visitors!" Mabel exclaimed, frantically waving at the car, but it was gone, a thick plume of smoke left hanging in it's wake. Mabel pouted, dropping her hand. "Aw, they didn't see me."

"I wonder why they came," Dipper muttered to himself.

"They're tourists, duh. 'Prolly gonna look at the Mystery Shack."

"Yeah, 'prolly."

The twins were interrupted by the clanging of a rusty engine, and they turned their heads to watch a massive moving van careen around the same corner after the mustard-yellow car. Dipper raised his eyebrows, and Mabel gave an elated squeak.

This was something different.

Something completely new.
