Lucia and Peter walked in with their eyes fixed on me. Peter shut the door behind him then leaned on it.
"You've chased Maya away Felicity? ", She sat beside me.
"Yes I did Lucia.... ". I felt dared and I'd gladly dare her back . She looked at me as if she hadn't heard me clearly. I hated the look
"Alright then...would you please tell us what happened? ", she struggled not to get mad at me. She forced a smile.
"I don't want to talk about it now".
"Lucia speak out.... We want to help you ". Peter said.
"Everything happening is your fault Lucia. Thanks to your abandonment I have terrible episodes and each time the thunder and lightning strikes, I have to suffer. I have to go through what I went through years back and it hurts." I got from the bed and went to the window. It felt like just the other time that all happened.
"Felicity blaming your mother will not help".
"So should I blame you Peter???. I am not a kid but I am still affected by what happened to me during my childhood. I am stuck between two walls that nobody can get me from and that's it. "
"but that's why I went for the doctor...so that you can get help". Lucia sounded stupid but I couldn't blame her.
"You know nothing about being a mother and that's why you rushed to the hospital to get me that crazy looking woman. What I need is not a doctor Lucia " I turned to her. She was sorry but that didn't satisfy me nor my anger.
"Maybe Lucia wasn't the best mom back then but she wants to be right now. If you can allow me then, to be your doctor I'll gladly help. I'll understand you and be there for you."
"Peter I want to talk to my mother.... Please excuse us. "
I liked his idea and I knew he wasn't bad. He had good intentions towards me but I wasn't ready. I didn't want to associate with him let alone him making me feel like a fragile lady. Without putting on an argument he peacefully left. I leaned on the wall and stared at Lucia. She was silent.
"Lucia... ",
"Felicity...", she walked to me. She stood right In front of me and held my waist. Her eyes were like mine and it was the first time I saw the resemblance. They were blue and bright, perfect for seduction. Her hair was was long and silky.
"Felicity.. ",She was in mid tears.
"I don't know the perfect word to say so that I'd make everything right. I was just a naive little teenager who was interested in money. I then got some rich guy and it happened. I told him about it but he told me to go to hell. He asked me to get rid of you and gave me some good money. "
"So why didn't you abort me?"
"I wasn't going to get rid of you.. Instead I took you to an orphanage then transferred you to a boarding school. Do you remember the times I used to send you cards and preety dolls when you were in kindergarten?" My intestines twitched.
"Yes and I burnt them all dear mommy...I burnt them because you didn't love me, because you were undecided." I always hated that feeling. The feeling of somebody wanting you now and not wanting you in the next minute.
"Look.... We've got no time to waste now.. things are pretty bad. "
Her voice got deeper and serious. It's like our talk had taken another dimension without me noticing it.
"What does that mean? ", I was curious.
"I know I made a mistake but we won't discuss it now. I have something much serious to tell you." Somebody knocked on the door.
"Come in Peter.... " A lady walked in. I had never seen her before. Lucia Walked to her and embraced her.
"Here she is.." They were staring at me like some movie.
"Felicity this is my mother Anna, your grandma. My sister will be coming with her kids later on. " Lucia said. Anna's eyes got filled with tears. She was the emotional type. She took some steps towards me then stopped midway.
"Can I hold you Felicity?....can I just embrace you granddaughter?. " That was my wish and finally it had come true. A family. A full large family. I smiled at her and before I knew it, I was locked in her arms. Grandma's hug is one of the best ones.
