Thunder strike hard outside. The heaven rumbled and the wind blew harder that I could hear it's whispers inside my ears. Everything about thunder, lighting and strong winds drove me crazy.
"Lucia... ", I screamed as my eyes were fixed on the doorknob hoping to see it turn...hoping that somebody was behind the door.
My heart froze and I heard it crack inside me just like before.
"I'm drowning Felicity....I am dying."
I tried to stretch out my hand but it barely moved. Bruna cried out for me.
"Just hold on.... I have to look for a log to pull you out... Just hang in there girlfriend... "
"No.... don't leave me Felicity.... don't leave me "Bruna cried.
I shook myself. I tried to move only to fall on the cold floor. Everything was blur but I couldn't see her anymore .
I woke up minutes later in the arms of Peter. My eyes met his. His eyes were dark and bright. His eye lashes were pretty lined up. He was a full grown man, Handsome. His beards were pretty shaved and his mouth... well I don't know. I was weak and cold.
"I am right here baby girl...Your mother has gone to fetch a doctor in the nearby hospital. Just relax..."He consoled me . Bruna's cry still stung my ears though she wasn't that close. She was dying.
"Bruna please.... I am sorry."The words escaped my lips. Lucia and a lady doctor walked in. She rushed to my side and lightly kissed my forehead. She then felt my temperature with the back of her hand .
"Peter how is she now? ..". I sensed panic and tremors in her voice.
"It will be good if we let the doctor examine her...let's excuse them." He carefully settled me on the bed.
"No.... I am her mother...I want to know what is wrong with her." She was more than serious.
"Darling let's go and wait for the full details. Please." His voice was was sweet and his words were convincing. She agreed then followed him out. We were left alone. Alone with the dark eyed lady I didn't trust one bit.
"My name is Maya." I assumed Lucia had told her mine.
"You look tensed dear... What's happening or what happened?. "
She was asking for the sake of asking but not of helping. I had seen her likes.
"I am alright doctor Maya...you can just leave. " She raised her eyebrow in disbelief
"Excuse me??? "
"I said you can just leave... I am not interested in talking to you."
She grabbed her handbag then left.
I didn't need a doctor. What I needed was Lucia, my mother. I needed her hugs and kisses. I wanted her to whisper into my ears sweet words that would calm me down. I needed her beside me.
