Being used to certain lifestyle, the step-mother belived that her daughters would not understand that sudden financialdifficulties she was in , having no man of the hause to bring home money and having huge mortagages to pay for the stately chateau.Trying to keep the same standard of living for her daughters proved to be too difficult to balance with keeping their estate managed and it soon fell into disrepair, and not being ale to afford servants to help clean the chateau she set her own daughters' lives in moderate comfort while also keeping the estate moderately comfortable.
