*Angela's POV*
I was in our room reading a book called The Maze Runner. I was almost to chapter 53 when I was interrupted by Leah saying, "Ang lets go out now. They won't notice us." "Okay."
We went our separate ways like usual. I killed about 5 walkers on my way to the gates. I use my machete instead of a gun because we both stay close to the walls and the others could hear us.
I was walking around one of the houses in front of the gates when I heard cars. I walked to a window with a bordered bottom window to see a group, pretty big for the usual groups these days. Aaron was holding a limping Eric. Oh my god, did he twist his ankle? Wonder how he did that.
I looked around at the groups people to see a boy; maybe about my age. His piercing blue eyes met my greenish grey ones. And for a second I didn't know what to do. We kept staring at each other until a lady with dreadlocks walked forward resulting in blocking his view of me for 30 seconds. I ducked down behind the wood and sat there listening.
I could hear a baby. Wait. I could hear a baby! I haven't seen a baby since before all this. I then heard the sound of an animals squeal and an arrow zipping through the air. Crossbow. Wow I miss those things. A voice then said, "We brought dinner." Probably a southern guy. I heard Aaron say something to whoever was behind the gates but it was more of a mumble to me. I started walking back to mine and Leah's meeting spot.
As I walked through the woods I started thinking a lot.
Aaron knows that me and Leah come out here. And he's fine with it as long as we have a weapon or two. Aaron's like the older brother I never had. But it's hard for the two of us to get attached.*Flash Back To A Month After The World Turned to Crap*
We were still in New York. We thought of we went south we would have a better chance. We were getting some food from a gas station and when we went in there were about 40 walkers. My parents had guns and me an Leah had machetes, knives and a hand gun.
There was also 15 walkers roaming outside the station. We were running back to the car when I heard a scream. My mothers screams. Then my fathers. "Mom!! Dad!" I yelled out crying. "I love you Ang-" my mother cried out; pain laced her voice.
I was sobbing like a lunatic. I went on a rampage; killing walker after walker until Leah pulled me away from the scene. We started running; never looking back. It was when we stopped in a white house that I noticed her crying as well. We were tough from that day on. Never thinking twice about killing someone or stealing.
*Present Day*Even through the memories I can't stop thinking about those eyes. His eyes. Something about them was so captivating.
I want to know who that boy is. And I will find out soon."Hey Ang." "Hi Leah!" I said back with a huge smile. "What's up? I haven't seen you smile like that since before." She smiled back. "Well I saw Aaron and Eric again! And there was a boy our age with the group they brought back. I want to know who he is!" I said happily. "What did he look like? Other than the obvious; dirty?" She laughed a little. "Well perfect," I pause giggling a little, "but on a serious note he had brown hair and amazing blue eyes. And a sheriffs hat." "Ooo interesting. Let's go back over and see if we can catch a glimpse of him." She said in a playful tone.
We climbed over the wall and walked to the main street in Alexandria. I knew exactly where they were going; Deanna's. There's nothing bad about Deanna. She's very friendly. I think of her as a second mother. She's done so much for me and Leah. And I'm so thankful for it.
