JACOB POV 

"Emily are you ok?" I asked her. She looked like she wanted to say something, but then she started balling her eyes out. She was hysterical crying. Cameron put his arm around her.

"Babe whats wrong?" He said. He looked very concerned and so was I. Emily always seemed like a tough girl, that didn't cry easily. After she started calming down, she said...

"You know how I have asthma?" She asked us. I didn't know this, but I just said yea.

"Well, the last couple of nights I've been having a hard time breathing, so my mom took me to the doctor. They took an x-ray of my lungs and said that they would call my mom and tell her the results. My mom just texted me that the results came in and..." Then Emily started crying again. I was so scared for her. So was Cameron.

"a..a...a..and I have stage 3 lung cancer." She finally managed to say. Then she started crying again. Cameron hugged her, so she started crying in his shoulder.

"It's okay. Everything is going to be okay Emily. You have us and we will always be there," Cameron kept saying. 

"Emily, we all love you, and if you ever need anything, just talk to us ok," I said. I was heartbroken. Then Emily came up and hugged me...for a while. I felt kind of awkward because Cameron was right there, but I wasn't going to break the hug. Then Emily got a phone call. She answered it

"Hello"

"Yea Mom, I got your text." 

"Okay."

"Are you serious?"

"Okay bye mom love you"

Then Emily told us that her mom just said that the cancer has been in Emily for a long time, but they only noticed now. So, she could be dying in 4 months. She started crying. 

EMILY POV

This sucks. Right after I meet all these amazing friends, now this crap has to happen. The thing is, every time I think about dying, I realize that I'm going to miss Jacob more than Cameron. 

"Cameron, I want to go home." I said. I really just wanted to go home and hang out with my mom. If I died, she would have no one, and that would make me feel horrible. My dad left us when I was 9, and my older sister was kidnapped when I was 5 and she was 10. 

"Okay babygirl." Cameron said. I got up and gave Jacob a hug, a big hug.

"Stay strong okay, he whispered in my ear."

"I will, I promise." I whispered back. Then I realized we had been hugging for a long time so I pulled away. Jacob and Cameron bro hugged, and then we left. Cameron drove me home, kissed me goodbye, and then I left. 

When I got in the house, I gave my mom a big hug.

"Just don't worry about it. Everything's going to be okay," she said. I hoped she was right. We hung out for the rest of the day, and then I went on my phone because I had something to take care of. I texted Jacob.

Me: Hey Jacob, I gotta ask ya something

Jacob: What's up

Me: I don't really like Cameron, but I know he really loves me, so I don't know what to do.

Jacob: Damn that's a tough one.

Me: I know. He's really nice and all, but I like someone else.

Jacob: Just be honest and tell him, but be nice about it.

Me: Okay ty

Jacob: Np. Btw, who's this boy you like

Me: You'll find out

Then I texted Cameron:

Me: Hey I have to talk to you.

Cameron: What is it babe?

Oh lord he called me babe and now I gotta dump him.

Me: Cameron, you're a really nice guy, and this is nothing against you, but I think we should break up. I'm sorry, but I have feelings for someone else.

Cameron: Is it Jacob?

Me: Um, why are you asking.

Cameron: Because it's obvious. I can tell from the way you look at him and the way you guys hugged. IT'S OTP!!!!!!

Me: So you're cool about this?

Cameron: Totally. We're all still friends. Plus I ship you and Jacob.

Me: Lmao ty for everything

Cameron: Np you too

Then I texted Jacob:

Me: It's you

I honestly didn't know how he was going to respond

Jacob: What's me?

Me: You're the boy I like

JACOB POV

I legit couldn't stop smiling. I was so happy.

Me: Wow you must have some pretty low standards.

Emily: No I don't lmao

Me: Well, I like you too

Emily: Rlly??

Me: Yeah. What's not to like about you

Emily: Lmao I can list multiple things.

Me: Are you dong anything tmrw?

Emily: No why?

Me: Cause, I'm not asking you out over text

Emily: Oh ok lmao.

Me: Come over at like 12 tmrw

Emily: Okay bye
