Snowfest. The semiformal dance held in February. Matthew Williams, a shy person until he knows you, kinda has a crush on this other guy, Gilbert. Now, they go to different schools, but they are in the same end of the day class thing where they learn a skill. Recently, Gilbert has been talking to Matthew , which made his day like 1000x better. He was absolutely adorable, funny, and just perfect. However, Matthew knew he was perfect and was terrified that he may say no. Mattie was contemplating asking him for the past week and now he finally had the courage. "H-Hey, Gilbert." The tall male looks over to him with a smile. "Yes." Matthew looks down at his shirt, playing with the bottom of it. "Are you doing anything February 20th at like 8?" Gilbert lets out a chuckle. "I don't think so, why?" Mattie's face starts to burn. "Well, um, would you like to go to snowfest with me? It's my school's semiformal." Awaiting rejection, Matthew is surprised to hear his response. "Sure. I'd like that." Mattie's smile grew and his heart was exploding with joy. 'He said yes! He actually said yes! I wasn't nerdjected!'
*flashback to two years prior*
Valentine's Day. What better day to tell him. Just be cool. "Hey *crush name*." Mattie asks by his locker. "Hey." He responds. 'Just tell him.' "Hey, *crush name* I kinda like you." Mattie looked at his feet, his heart beating fast. "Sorry, I'm already in a relationship. They go to another school." Mattie took a step back. "Oh, okay." His face grew red in embarrassment. 'I'm so stupid! Why would I think he would like me?' An acquaintance of his then added to the awkwardness. "Ooh. You just got nerdjected!" Yeah, they were both nerds, and he rejected him. That is where the term came from.
*back to present*
"Okay, cool." Mattie responds. When he went back to his school, he had a huge smile on his face. 'I've got a date! Woah, I actually have a date.' Those words were foreign to his tongue. This has never happened before.
