When you look in the mirror
What do you see?
A boy
A girl
Well I just see me
A simple girl
At the age of 14
Not much of a looker
But hey that’s just me
I see
Long wavy hair
A few curls here and there
I see
A tall lanky shape
Tanned from the beach
I can see big hazel eyes
That hide secrets galore
I see down in those eyes
Past what the mirror perceives
A deep quiet place
That I know all to well
I see things
Past the things
When you couldn’t see more
I see things that no one would want to explore
But just in the corner
Where the darkness cant hide
I see a glimmer of hope
In those deep hazel eyes
I see
A glimmer of joy
And a hint of hope
A bit of kindness
With a lot of faith
If you want to know
Exactly what I see
I see such love
And gentleness
As there ever could be
But the most important I see
Is the peace inside me
Those are the things
That I can see just outright
When I look in the mirror
I see a girl with big dreams
What do you see in the mirror
Because I see the best person I can be
