I wake up the next morning, disoriented but warm. I soon find the source of the warmth, Ashton's head snuggled into my chest like it was a pillow as he arm is strewn across my stomach, his golden curls a mess of strands everywhere.
A recently familiar smile finds its way back onto my lips as I let my eyes flutter back closed, choosing to answer sleeps beckoning grasp instead of pulling myself away from the comfy embrace of slumber and Ashton.
The second time I wake up that morning is just as good as the first, Ashton's fingers gently tugging through my hair as he presses gentle kisses to my forehead. I let out a small sigh of contentment, keeping my eyes closed as I shift my body sideways and further into Ashton's arms. He lets out a small chuckle but doesn't argue, curling his arms around my petite frame.
"G'mornin," I mumble against his chest, my words muffled by his shirt and toned deeper with sleep.
"Morning," Ashton replies softly, choosing to place another kiss to my skin instead of talking. We lay there for more than a few moments, each basking in the feel of each other in the most innocent way.
"I really don't wanna leave but I should probably go get Maisie before Luke ends up with pink nails or glittery hair or something," Ashton tells me reluctantly, tilting his head down to look at me as he speaks. I pout but nod, his lips curving into a small smile as he pops a kiss onto my pout, effectively smoothing it into a grin.
"You up for breakfast with a very excitable toddler?" He asks as more of an offer, his fingers tucking a strand of hair behind my ear, the movement unconscious on his part.
"Of course, but Maisie will be there too." I tease, dimples caving into his cheeks as he lets out a laugh, shaking his head as he scoffs.
"I'm just gonna choose to forget that you said that and pretend like you just said yes." He informs me as he slides out of my bed, offering me a hand to help pull me out as well. I take his offer, sliding my hand into his much larger hand as he helps pull me into a standing position on the floor.
"I should probably change before we go," I say, more to myself than Ashton as I turn and start to dig through my drawers for a pair of leggings, surprised at how comfortable I already am with Ashton and how sloppy I look around him.
"Why? You look beautiful." He says frankly, catching me off guard as I turn towards him, pointedly look down at my old sweatpants and tank top and then back up to him. He then pointedly looks down at his sweatpants and t-shirt, giving me a small smirk when I sigh.
"At least let me put fresh sweatpants on?" I ask, grinning when he sighs dramatically but nods at me. I let out a small giggle as I pull out a slightly cuter pair of sweatpants and a clean sweatshirt to throw over my tank top.
I skip past him and into bathroom, quickly going to the bathroom and taking care of everything I needed to do there before changing into the fitted black sweatpants, the worn but soft material clinging tighter to my legs. I wash my hands and brush through my hair before throwing it back into a ponytail, choosing to not linger over my face in the mirror.
I walk out of the bathroom and send Ashton a smile, throwing the sweatshirt over my head, stuffing my phone in my pocket, and tossing on a pair of moccasins while Ashton pulls a pair of sneakers back onto his feet.
"Ready, love?" Ashton asks, my head nodding in reply as we walk out of my room and out of the apartment, locking the door behind me.
I climb into the passenger seat of his car as he climbs into the driver's seat, turning the car on and switching the heat to full blast to try and rid the car of its icy chill. The next ten minutes is relaxing as we listen to music Ashton has playing, not feeling the need to talk and instead letting the relaxing sounds of The Neighbourhood fill the space between us. Soon enough we are pulling into the driveway of a small house, similar looking to Ashton's.
