I wait,
Patient for my next victim.
I'm deep under the blue mirror.
My seaweed colored eyes,
Twinkling with hunger.
My golden locks,
Floating weightlessly.
My tail follows suit,
Its glistening scales
like pearls.
I smelled the human
Before he even touched the water.
His armor smeared with blood,
His sword stuck in the rocky shore.
I move in for the kill,
Letting my body do the talking.
We're face to face now,
His eyes like fire, burning with hunger,
But not the same kind I have.
My lips are parted,
Inviting a kiss.
He leaned in,
Vulnerable as they always were,
So I made my move.
I drag him under the water,
His body thrashing,
But my strength overpowers his brute.
When his body stopped moving,
And his life was drained,
I feasted on his flesh and bones.
And for years now,
The process has repeated,
So again,
I wait.
