Chapter Nine

Fionna
...
I felt a stinging pain on my ankle. I look around but there's nothing in my sight. It's all empty, all white. Am I dead? No, I've been here before. I'm dreaming.
The white fades away to uncover gray clouds. Small raindrops touched my cheeks. I couldn't move. I felt like I was paralyzed. Another image appeared. It was the candy kingdom. The candy walls were destroyed. A large shadow stands in front of me.
...
"She's awake."
I open my eyes abruptly and sit up. I woke up in the candy hospital.
"lay down please." The nurse pushes me back down onto the hospital bed. I look at the IV needle in my wrist. There's a small cast on my other hand. And a heater.
"Where's Gumball? And Cake?" I sat up and looked at the empty beds next to mine.
"Calm down. Prince gumball is safe now and Cake if fine. Ice queen escaped though. Lay down."
I lay back down, relieved. I start to remember what else happened.
"Is Marshall Lee okay?"
"Mm, he had a wound on his shoulder. He didn't want me to treat it so he left in a hurry. Now about you, you were hit on the chest with an ice blast but nothing was damaged. So you're good to go home but you will have intense chills and shivers at any moment. Cake will pick you up shortly."
I thank her for her help. I feel bad about hurting him but he was such a baby! He wouldn't let me do my job. And besides I'm not in the mood to take to him. I'm in the mood to sit in an oven, I'm freezing.

Marshall Lee
I wandered around an apple tree farm to cool off some more. I was so stupid. And now I have a stinging pain on my shoulder. I guess I deserved it. If anything I would want to apologize but I don't know if it's too soon or not. I don't want to lose her.
"Marshall Lee! Wait up! " I recognize that voice. Angela stood in front of me. "Don't you have work today?" I asked her. "Don't worry about it, look I just want to apologize for what we said about you and Fionna. I realize that we weren't so helpful." she put out her hand. "Truce?" I shook her hand, "Truce, but don't worry about it. You guys were right. She has a boyfriend and they seem happy together. It's best that i don't get in there way. " Angelina smiled, " well you want to get drunk with the guys? "
"Nah, I'm not in the mood. And I probably should go apologize soon. Just so I won't feel so bad about what happened."
she shrugged, "okay, see ya later alligator"

Fionna
Cake came to take me home, but before we went back I stopped by to see Gumball. He thanked me with a golden metal. Cake was also a little cold to the touch but, she said I was freezing cold so once we got home she made me hot cocoa.
I changed into something more comfortable and decided to sleep through the day but, as I was about to fall asleep, cake said flame prince is here to see me. Cake let him into the room. "Hey Fionna, how's my favorite person doing?" Flame Prince walked in with a quirky smile on his face. He was wearing tinfoil boots that Cake made for him. He hates them but he has to wear them.
"hi flame prince. How are you?" I sat up.
"I'm good, thanks. Are you okay? Because I heard what happened to you." He reached for my hand. I was expecting for a burning sensation but it felt as if he was human too. I looked into his eyes and he looked into mine. "whoa, You're so cold, that we are able to hold hands!" He lasses his hand into mine. "What! No way! This is amazing!" I take the chance to embrace him.
This is incredible! He feels so normal. It doesn't feel like I'm hugging a flame, it feels like I'm hugging a person. I didn't want this moment to end. I think he didn't either.
"Ey, don't do anything crazy you kids."
We both let go of each other. Cake walks in with a cup of hot chocolate. I felt my cheeks warm up just a tad. "thanks Cake." Flame prince put his arm around my shoulder. My face started to hurt from all the smiling. I felt so happy to be with him. To be able to hug his without worrying if he is burning me. BMO walked in and by the looks of his face I know he didn't bring good news. "Fionna someone is here to speak to you!" I frowned and looked at flame prince.
He smiled, " it's okay Baby, I'll see you later. " he leans close to me and gives me a peck on the lips then left the room.
Baby? Since when?
Whatever, it was sorta cute. I go downstairs and open the door to... Marshall Lee. "Can we talk.... .outside.
We sat down on a small log outside in our front yard. Marshall Lee and I sat down and stared at the clouds. I wish I could just run back inside or run far away from him. I don't want to talk to him. I feel like it's too early. No space.
"So, uh..."
He started to speak but stopped. he looked uncomfortable. Well I'm on the same boat. I looked into his red eyes.
"I just wanted you to know, that I'm... apologizing. I'm really sorry, for how I acted towards you guys. I was just really frustrated and upset." He sounded so calm but he looked nervous.
I cross my arms and stare into his eyes, they expressed sadness. "Well you should be, what you dId seriously killed the fun. You didn't have to follow us and drag us down. And you certainly didn't have to interfere between me and ice queen. You could have talked to me about what was bothering you. I'm not going to joke about it. I'm your friend, dude. You can tell me."
He looks away from my gaze, "I know, it's just that, I didn't really know how to handle it, I didn't mean to take it out on you." He rubs the back of his neck. I look down at my shoes. Cake makes all my shoes. There actually pretty nice.
Marshall Lee lightly touches my arm, "I guess I was kinda jealous ... of you and Flame prince. I just don't want you to stop hanging out with me." he looked at me with his red eyes.
I couldn't help but to stand up and place my hand on his shoulders. " Dude, stop worrying about it. I'm trying to hang out with her both of you equally. I'll forgive you if you forgive me for stabbing your shoulder."
Marshall smiled, "forgive and forget."
I almost playfully punched his shoulder but then I remembered about his wound. I felt my sorrow and guilt wash away. I look into his eyes once again, I think he felt it to. I feel a sharp shiver overcome my body. I felt like I was liquid nitrogen. I slowly blackout. My teeth chattered and I shook so hard. I feel a firm grasp on my arms.
"Fionna? "
"Fionna?! "
As quickly as my shiver shock came it left just as quickly. I felt my entire body freezes up. "whoa, that was intense." I cross my arms and shiver some more. "You okay? You looked like you were in the middle of a giant earthquake. And you felt really cold. " he sounded real concern.
"I'm okay, it's just really cold now. I think I'll just go back inside and warm up." Marshall Lee nodded, "Yeah, I get it. I'll see you soon, shorty." I glared at him. He smiled and waved bye as I entered back inside. "Cake let's have breakfast for dinner."

Marshall Lee
The sunset took over the blue sky. I felt relieved that all that negative stuff is out.
"Marshall Lee. Hold on. I want to talk to you." I turn to face flame prince. He crossed his arms and huffed out air. "Sure." He glares at me, "Look, I'm okay with Fionna having guy friends but, I'm NOT OK with her guy friends flirting with her. So I think you need a reminder. Fionna is TAKEN. She has a boyfriend and it's me. So quit your pathetic flirts and leave her alone. Or else I'll take things into my own hands" His hands spark fire.
I roll my eyes "Leave Fionna alone. She can do whatever she wants. And I know she is taken. I'm not interested anyways. I just like to joke around with her." I shrug at him. "whatever, but I told you what will happen if you cross the line." He snaps his fingers which sparked fire. His eyebrows furrowed as he walked away.
He's still his friendly self.
Aye y'all! ain't this a weird story? But I like it. It's sorta different. And I'm tired. :-)
