Chapter 3 (Monteverde)

'Monteverde'

Everyone stop in their designated work as he passed by. At the age of 25 he already proved himself worthy in the position he is entitled to; the heir of the Monteverde Empire the soon to be chairman.'

"Vincent Zach D. Monteverde" is known to be aloof, mysterious and ruthless man. Everyone admire his mighty looks and body built. His posture and facial expression are somewhat mysterious which added his sex appeal to the point that many women afters him. Funny to say that he himself also don't know why is it many women after him to the point that it annoyed him to the cure of his existence.

Everyone says he's like a Greek God from the old time; his firm jaw, his aristocratic nose, his deep dark blue eyes, his height and his well tone body are perfectly suited him.

As he passed by, all of his employees greeted him and can't stop looking at him, well, particularly women. He did not return the favor of greeting them because it is not his obligation to do so . As he entered to the private elevator in which he, the member of the board of directors and his family are the only people allowed to used it, his phone rings and he fetch it immediately,
"who is it?" he answered without looking who is the caller.

"Sir, this is Ben, your new secretary"

" what is it?'

"sir, Mr. Chairman drop a call a while ago and he said that you have to be in his office as soon as possible."

"okay, I'll be there, is that all what you want to say?"

"yes sir,"

Then after that he turned off the phone without saying goodby or just at least bye. "why would I anyway" he think. It's not that he don't have manners at all, it's just that his job is not to please everyone in his territory.

He is the boss after all.

He then went straight to his father's office and opened the door after knocking 3 times. See? He has manners after all. "Note the sarcasm"

He saw him, he's father, sitting in his chair while reading some reports from other departments. At age of 50 he already wants to resigned and relaxed that is why he trained his son at the very young age. Well, his age doesn't justify his young feature and his as if he's just 40 years old. But even though he is nearly to resigned he is still very workaholic, just like now he did not even notice that his son is already setting in the visitor's chair which is facing to him. He is always like that even before.

He doesn't want to disturb him but he also has a work to do. So he began to approach him saying
"dad what is it you want from me?" in a formal voice he usually use whenever his in the office.

"don't used that voice to me young man" without even looking at him and still engrossed reading.

"whatever dad, anyways I'm in a hurry"

"okay, I just wanna ask how was the transaction last time?" he said while slowly putting the paper aside and looking at him.

"it was fine, nothing to worry about." While resting his head and leaning his back in the chair.

"okay, and how about the upcoming event these Saturday? Are things all set?" The old man said.

"yes, everything are all set and also my secretary confirmed the participants in the seminar."

"Good, how about the place, the resort? It is in the pearl right?"

"yes, It's in there and all of the participant also knew it already. But you must be there Dad, you're the speaker after all."

''Of course I'll be there, that is why I asked this thing personally to you and also I'll be bringing your mother in there so we could relax after. How about you? Would you be there?" he said while smiling.

"nah, i know you could handle it without me, so I'm not. I have other plan this Saturday anyway."

"oh, okay if you say so. Then you may now leave. I still have to read this." He said, while pointing the papers in his desk.

"okay bye dad, see you later"
He then immediately stood up and walks his way to the door. As he is about to open the door his dad say,
" your mom and your sister sent their regard to you and says they want you to see you tonight"

"I'll try but I won't promise," then he went straight to his office after saying it.

Its not that he don't want to see his mom and sister, in fact he really wanted to it is just that he really is busy this time. But he'll fix his schedule and to go tonight anyway.

They all misses him, his dad even if they're in the same building everyday, always make this excuse to ask him some question about things whom he eventually could ask his secretary about it but still wanted to ask it to him personally because of the reason that yeah, he misses him and so his mom and sister , they obviously miss him since the day that he chooses to live away from home.

And if he'll go this night it would be sure that they will just asked them about his civil status. Well, him being single and when he'll be marrying and seeing a decent woman. He also doesn't know when and this is for sure he doesn't want to.

Marriage? That is out of the line, a line he is not into. He is yet 25 years old for Pete sake' and he still wants to enjoy his life being free from commitment until his match will come. His other half''...

"Ben, call Alexa, tell her I'm busy and I won't be available tonight. And if anyone calls tell them I'm busy and I don't want to be disturbed." He said it before he entered his office.

"okay sir." ..'But whose' Alexa anyways?? Well, I could find her in this phone book..' these is his new secretary think while scanning the thing he saw in the other said if the table.

As he is in his office, he then sit and start working but accidentally his eyes landed in the frame in the table which is facing him. And then immediately his heart beat erratically. It's always is, and whenever he look at it he can't stop but to smile and to touch his left chest and feel his heart.

It is still beating so fast. He can't stop but thinking of her, it's been a long time. But every time he's with his fling and every time their having a private interaction her face is what he always see. Her angelic face, sharp nose, red lips and her eyes which is very captivating always haunted him.

He might be crazy waiting for the moment that he and this woman to meet again, but who cares? still he'll wait anyway...

Where are you my other half?.. it is the whisper of his heart whenever he look at the picture in his desk and his room. He is obsess, yes he is, but he is sure that time will come she will be ended in his arm.

We'll meet again.
