After waking up, he noticed Jamal was gone. He texted him just to see if everything was okay, which it was. After, he finished texting, he went down stairs to find something to eat. He, opened the fridge and found some lunch meat and tomatoes, pickles, and some bacon. He took them out and cooked him up a BLT sandwich. He poured a glass of Sprite and sat down at the bar, turned on the T.V. And was flipping through the channels to see, 'Bring it.'
As, he was watching the show he called up his big Brother, Darnell, who was in Miami for college.

" wassup lil bro?" Darnell said, with excitement.
" hey bro, I missed ya and just chilling at home eating and wAtching tv" j.C. Said eating his sandwich.
" missed you too lil bro, how's mom?" Darnell asked.
" she's good I guess, it's just weird since you're gone!" J.C. Explained, feeling saddened.
" what you mean?" Darnell asked.
" I don't know how to explain, like she just so busy all of a sudden, like not paying much attention to me!" J.C. Explained.
" well, you know she's a lawyer so of course she's going to be busy, but have you tried talking to her about things that go on in your life?" Darnell suggested.
" no, I mean I want to tell her about me and Lamar but I know she'll trip about me and him.. And I just don't know Darnell I just feel she is all about work! " J.C. Explained.
" just pray on it, but how are you and Lamar by the way?" Darnell asked.
" he's cool, we spent some time together awhile ago, but sometimes I feel like he wants to come out and not hide who he is, and I can just sense it.. But, we made a promise to not let our relationship be known, until we are both ready!" J.C. Explained.
" J.C. That sounds like some bullshit, he knows you're out why is he making you hold on to y'all relationship like its a secret?" Darnell explained.
" I don't know... I guess he's just not ready, like I know I've tried being patient and letting him be him, but.. Sometimes I just want us to be out as in a relationship, like I told him that us being in a relationship and people knowing isn't a big deal.. And he understands that.. But—" J.C. Was interrupted.
" J.C. I respect Lamar I do, and that's my boy from jump street! But, you need someone whose out and is okay with you guys being in a relationship.. I understand y'all love each other but you deserve better, you guys have been together for a year and going on two, and I feel like something should change... That's just how I feel... But it's your life bro" Darnell explained with firmness .
J.C. Was speechless for a bit. He knew his brother was right, he did deserve someone that was out and was comfortable with people knowing he was in a relationship, but he couldn't give up what him and Lamar have..
" D, I understand where you are coming from but me and Lamar we have been through enough to all of a sudden to break up just because he isn't ready to come out.. But, I understand though!" J.C. Sighed.
" all I'm saying is you deserve better, but I got to go, tell mom I said hi, and I love you bro stay easy!" Darnell said.
" okay D" j.C. Said. He hung up the phone and thought on their conversation..
" I love Lamar but my brother is right I do deserve better, but then again I can't let a year and going on 2 go just because Lamar is hesitant about coming out! I've never forced him to do anything he wasn't ready to do , and he hasn't either.. But then again?! " j.C. Thought to himself.
