This series is dedicated to Alan Weisman, and his thought provoking book, 'The World Without Us'. Keika's world is largely based on Mr. Weisman's work, which explores what would happen to our planet if mankind was suddenly no longer in charge. It also illustrates the depth and breadth of the impact our species has had on this tiny blue planet and it's bio-systems. In my opinion, all thinking humans should be required to read his book.

There is quite a bit of world building in the early part of the book, but persevere and you will find that the story gets better as you get deeper into it. Book 2 is better than Book 1.
