Natalie's POV-Finally, the last day of school has finished. School was such a drag this week. I'm so damn happy it's over, highschool sucks.
I rush to my bus stop for the last time this school year, making it just on time.
I sit at the back, like always, keeping to myself. Everybody at my school is so annoying other than my closest friends, so I'm perfectly fine with not talking to anybody.
Sitting on the bus alone listening to music, staring out the window daydreaming is always relaxing. My earbuds always make the annoying voices around me fade out. I snap out of my daze and realize I'm almost at my stop, and that makes my heart race.
I TOTALLY forgot, I have to go to my great uncle's trailer this weekend with my brother!! Dammit!!
I've been dreading this all week since my mom said, "Guess what Natalie, your great-uncle Brian wants to take you and Lukey to his trailer this weekend!! You're going to have so much fun!!"
Yup, that conversation ended in a huge argument. She ended up forcing me to go, because Uncle Brian wants to 'hang out' with me and Luke. What 15 year old teenager wants to do that?
I had to cancel plans with friends, and I'm missing the 'School's Out' party tomorrow night.
I'm not excited at all.
I see my stop and request to stop. I step off and walk to my house. I walk inside to see my great-uncle before me.
"Hey Natalie!!!!" He runs up and hugs me. Yikes.
"Er-hey!" I smile. Last thing I want right now.
"Are you all packed?! This weekend's gonna be great!"
"Uh, yeah my bag's in my room. I'll, uh, be right back." I dash off and run upstairs. I enter my room and freshen up with my Sephora spritz, just in case there's people my age up there. I pick up my bag, and go downstairs. I take my time, of course.
"Nat," my mom pulls me over, "Please don't let your uncle down this weeke-"
"Great uncle," I interrupt, correcting her.
She rolls her eyes, "Same shit. But Nat please I'm begging you, try to enjoy yourself. I know you're a city girl but he really wants to hang out with you guys," she smiles.
"I know I know, but there's no Starbucks there, and is there even wifi?" I sigh.
"I'm sure there will be some wifi. You can ask Brian to take you to Starbucks while you're heading up there."
I nod, smile, and walk to the door.
"You ready to hit the road?" Brian grabs my bag for me.
"Yeah, let's do it," I smile weakly.
"Hit the road?" Luke walks up to us in confusion. "Why would we hit it?"
I laugh, "He meant are we ready to go, Luke,"
"Oh. Well then let's hit the road!" Luke laughs.
And so we do.
--------------------------------------
We're halfway there, according to Brian. He bought me Starbucks thankfully, so I'm just enjoying myself, listening to the radio, staring out the window daydreaming. Just like I do on the bus.
Luke's in the back seat with his headphones in, probably playing Minecraft or something on his tablet.
And Brian, he's just singing along to whatever song comes on the radio.
