By Friday, I was able to get into a groove balancing work and school. I decided if I did most of my school work on the train, there and back, I could use most of my spare time drawing designs. It allowed me to keep a good face at Teen Vogue while maintaining respectable grades.

The morning was going quite well as I sat down into my seat for Physics. I was hoping our instructor was going to assign something easy today, because I wanted to keep my stress levels at a minimum. But my Physics instructor threw me a curve-ball.

“So class, we will be having a test on Monday, use your time wisely.” Our teacher, Mrs. Bates said in a monotone voice before returning to her cell.

I turned to Nikki frantically, “I am NOT ready for a Physics exam, what are we going to do?”

“We could have study group, that always helps me.” Nikki replied.

“Yes! Are you up for tonight? I have the weekend free so we can start after school.” I said thankful for the help, I was good at English and History, but Physics was not my strong suit.

“Sure, I need to study anyways. We can invite Carls over too, she has Physics. Ooh! We can have a sleep over afterwards, like to reward our great study habits.” Nikki whispered excitedly.

“Ha! Yeah right!” I snorted, with Nikki and Carls being there, I doubted any studying would happen, but you got to try. “We can have it at my flat, Aunt Diana loves y’all.”

“Y’all?” Nikki said with a raised eyebrow mocking me.

“Y’all!” I yelled gleefully. Mrs. Bates looked at me and I quickly quieted down. I turned and whispered to Nikki, “Come at four, I’ll bring some snacks, you bring the tracks.”

“You’ll catch us chillin' at the shack-a-lac.” Nikki replied finishing our mini-freestyle session.

“Word.” I said while I crossed my arms across my chest.

Nikki flashed the peace sign before we turned back to our books, and started studying.

When school let out, I went to the local market. While walking there, I took out my cell phone and called Gina, I had gotten her number because we were co-workers.

“What?” Gina snapped.

“Calm your panties, or should I say knickers? Haha I’m so funny. I’m just having a sleep over and I was wondering if you wanted to come.”

“Why would I waste my time at a sleep over, tonight I’m going to work on some designs.”

“Well maybe you could get some inspiration at the sleep over, take pj’s and make a high fashion outfit.” I offered.

“Still don’t want to.” Gina stubbornly replied.

“Gina, look. Just because we’re co-workers and competitors doesn’t mean we can’t be friends. Heck, it might even help our work.” I really wanted Gina to come, but she was making it so difficult!

“Okay, I guess we can hang out what time should I come over.” Gina asked.

“Around six.” I was about to hang up, but Gina interrupted, “Wait, I don’t have your address!” Oh my gosh, I am so stupid. I invited Gina to my house, and I didn’t even give her my address. I’m a freaking idiot.

“Sorry about that, my address is 412 Hanover Square, London. Suite B.” I answered. “See ya Gina.”

“Bye.” As I hung up, I went into the market. Looking around for snacks that could be disguised as healthy, I saw this movie poster Ender’s Game. Hm, seems like it’ll be a good movie. It was a Sci-Fi movie, my favorite. I quickly browsed around gathering some cheese, Wheat Thins, Triscuits, Gatorade, Sour Skittles, Cheetos, and my favorite, Pelligrino. None of my friends like sparkling water, but I didn’t mind, more for me. I went up to the Check-Out Aisle and saw one of the workers here that I was friendly with, Sarah.
