When I walked inside the unknown building, there were dim, neon lights and music.
It smelled like sweet perfume.
There was shouting and laughter and cheers.
What was this place?
The men led me into a little office, down a dark hallway and Cristiano unlocked the door. I scrunched my eyebrows from the stress I was under and the men sat me down in a chair. "Alright, all you leave!" Cristiano commanded to them all.
The did as he said and left. I watched as each and everyone of them left.
He grinned at me and sat down in a chair behind a big desk. Papers were scattered everywhere on it. I looked at one of them and the letters were backwards. I glanced at the small, handheld mirror on the desk.
"Leonardo da Vinci." I blurted.
Cristiano raised an eyebrow and looked at me like I was stupid.
"His writing technique. He used to write backwards so that no one would understand his notes. You were inspired weren't you?" I asked.
Cristiano looked quite impressed.
"You're right. In fact, You're so right, and smart, that it scares me a little." He said.
I couldn't help but smile a little bit at that.
"What were your grades in school?" He asked. "If you don't mind, I'd rather not talk about school...but if you insist..my English grades were "outstanding" my math and science grades were terrible...my history and other grades were pretty decent so to say..." I said, looking down at my lap.
"Why would you rather not talk about school?" He asked, interested of course.
I shook my head. "People aren't good..." I said. He chuckled. "We'll, you will never have to see those people again. Oh, and do not worry, Damien will be back soon." Cristiano said with a grin.
I just nodded in return.
"Where am I?" I asked, looking up at him in confusion. There were so many unanswered questions racing through my mind. Cristiano rubbed his chin and stared at me with his dark brown eyes.
"Welcome to the Mafia." He said, outspreading his arms.
My jaw dropped in shock.
"M-Mafia? I didn't think that truly existed..." I stumbled. He laughed and slicked back his hair.
"Well, here we are." He told me with a grin.
"This is just one of our main quarters." He said proudly.
My eyes got wide. "Will I have to work here?" I asked, desperately wanting to know. He shrugged. "Of course not. You, cara mia, are here for a different reason." He replied.
"But if you wish to work here for us... I wouldn't mind." He flirted, making me frown at him.
"Here, catch!" He said, throwing something silky at me. "I need you to do a little errand for me." He said.
I recognized the object almost immediately.
It was a grey and white shirt.
I looked down at the object with a confused look. "Am I supposed to put this on?" I asked. "No, go find a girl by the name of Valentina, and give it to her." He said with a grin.
I hesitated for a moment, then stood up.
"If you get lost...just find someone to help you. I don't know what to tell you. Mi dispiace!" He called after me.
I continued walking down the hall and I stared at the pictures pinned to the bulletin board. There were pictures from the 40s, to now.
I giggled at a photo of Damien drinking vodka straight from the bottle at what looked like a party.
I glanced around me and there were woman dressed extravagantly and other woman dressed in leather jackets.
"Lost?" I heard a girl's voice say from behind me. I turned around to see a girl with black hair and a lip piercing.
"Y-yeah. I'm looking for someone by the name of Valentina..." I nervously replied, feeling my stomach build up with an uncomfortable pain.
"Oh, okay. Follow me, she should be around here somewhere." She said, leading me to another hall. "Stupid Cristiano. He sucks at giving directions." I heard her mutter.
We walked up to a door and she knocked on it. "I'm Roxy." She said, turning to smile at me.
The name suits her.
"I'm Rose.." I awkwardly introduced myself as we shook hands.
Roxy knocked again, this time a little bit impatiently. The door finally opened, to a curly strawberry blonde haired girl.
"Valentina, I believe this is yours." Roxy said, handing her the shirt. "Where was it? I've been looking for this.." She said.
"In Cristiano's office I'm guessing" She said looking at me. I nodded and did a side smile.
"Oh. Okay..Thanks." She said while yawning.
"No problem." Roxy said, shutting the door behind us.
"Okay, do you need me to lead the way back to Cristiano's office?" Roxy asked me, as we contiued to walk throughout the building.
"It would be nice if you could.." I quietly said. She smiled and began to lead the way back.
"Alright. Here it it." She said, knocking on the door.
"Come in!" I heard Cristiano called.
I opened the door and the both of us walking inside, seeing Cristiano counting money.
He looked up and smiled.
"Ah Roxy. It's been a while since I saw you." He said.
"It's been two days, idiot." She responded, making him laugh anyways.
"So I suspect that you have met Roxy?" Cristiano asked me. I nodded and sat down in a chair across from his desk.
"Good because you'll be staying with Roxy until I can figure out what to do with you." He said.
"Sounds good to me!" Roxy said.
