I Grew Wings On my Birthday!!! Chapter 1

Part 5

I could hear the jets fallowing me fading into the distance, I flew back to Corcoran settling on the high school roof tired, yawning I decided to take another brief nap to get my strength back. I stare up at the blue sky well over a hour be for deciding I'm not going to get to sleep.

I peaked over the side when I heard the bell ring high school students always leave something behind I was looking for a jacket to cover my wings so I could grab something to eat. the ladies in the café know I run away a lot and feed me for free when ever I'm in town. I found a guys jacket and waited for the last person to go inside be for jumping down to snag it, I yanked it on and hopped the fence heading to the café.

the over head bell rang as I walked in the ladies looked up and shook there head Margie yelled "silver I heard you have been causing trouble young lady!" I laughed as I hopped over the counter. :"aren't I always"

jen said " foods on the house as always"

I yelled back "Thanks"

I grabbed a bowl and headed for the dessert counter only to be cut off with a stern Margie "real food first." I smiled and took the burger she handed me

I sat on the ground out of site behind the counter to eat out of site.

as I was eating two officers came in I could hear the dispatcher  as they came closer I froze as one said "hey jen have you seen rose s kid ?" she ancwered "Charles is on base last I heard" playing stupid it got quiet and they said " let us know if you see eather of her kids." and walked out  I finished eating quickly, as Margie walked up to me.

"You know the back door is open if you ever need a place to go.
