Marth and roy sauntered to their small shop and began the days work. The blacksmith job wasnt an easy one. Working with heat and hot metal often left the boys hands burned but a living had to be made. The boys mostly crafted for the castle guards. When the little ones ran by Roy and Marth would Smile at eachother then craft wooden swords for them to play with. "Ever wonder what it would be like to have kids? " Roy asked. Marth shrugged. "Not really." A castle guard then approached and cut the conversation short. " Ahh Mr.Martin. Fine day today." Marth said with a smile. Theodore Martin smiled. "It would be but my shield is dented badly" He set the shield on the bench. "It protected me good. Dragon blew fire right at it and it never so much as got warm. " The boys smiled. "As long as it kept you safe. Thats all that matters" Theo smiled "So boys how much for a new one?" For awhile they threw numbers out before reaching a decision. 40 silver rumics. The boys worked quickly. Melting the metal then shaping it. Carving the signia of the kingdom into it. Decrepit skill that took all of 4 hours. Roy handed Theo the shield and he thanked the boys graciously. Then the boys cleaned up and got ready to leave. They walked to the healers. Madame Elise was bent over the man now wide awake. The man looked at the boys and introduced himself as Roland. "Luckily you came along when you did. Im not in the best of shape anymore " He said. "We were glad to help" Marth replied. "Boys, i have a business proposition for you. " Roland told them. Marth and Roy glanced at each other. "Im 67 years old. I cant run my wared the way i used to. If you agree to help me you can move into my house with me. Theres more food than it looks like you two eat in a day. Your very skinny. I have no sons of my own. Please consider it." Marth looked at Roy and he nodded with a smile. Marth turned back to Roland "You've got a deal" Roland smiled and handed them a key. "Im going to be here a few days. Watch after the place and make yourselves comfortable " Roy smiled "yes sir. We will" Roland smiled and fell asleep. The boys left to go find thier new home. It didnt take them long. It was a big farm with a house and barn. Marth and Roy grinned as they stepped inside the warm and cozy kitchen. "This is lucky isnt it Marthy?" Roy asked. "It must be" Marth replied laughing. It took the boys only one trip from their old home to their new home, each one pulling a cart of belongings. They each picked a room. The first time they had their own rooms. They left Rolands room alone. But this was definitly the start of a new beginning for two very unaware heroes.
