So I've had this story for a while, it's well ... a working progress. xD I hope you like it. ^-^

Romeo bit down hard and drank, as he sucked out the last drops of blood the squirrel’s now lifeless body, shrivelled in his hands and he threw the corpse into the crackling fire. He sat there for a while watching the small body, burn, turning to nothing but a pile of ashes. After sitting by the fire for a while and finally reassuring himself that he would be safe from the hunters till morning. Romeo laid down and let himself drift into sleep even though he knew it wouldn’t be deep and peaceful.
Romeo woke to the sunlight beating down on his pale face and the claws of a fox scratching at his arm, he opened one eye and lifted his arm quickly, shoving the fox forcefully away, it bowed it’s head and whimpered as it ran away. He sat up and sighed as he rubbed his eyes and stood up, stomping on the ashes of the fire. He heard a twig break close by and looked around then scowled himself for being afraid of what was likely a little bunny. After he’d picked up his pocket knife and put it in his pocket he started walking in the direction of what he hoped would be a town. There was an eerie sort of silence as he walked through the forest; with every step he took it seemed to get darker and quieter. Romeo fell to the ground, feeling dazed and really confused as he felt his leg stinging, moments later the same feeling was in his arm, cool red liquid oozed out of his arm and leg as he sat up and pulled out two daggers. The gashes were quite large and stung like crazy. He looked up as someone lunged on him and pinned him to the ground. He frowned as he saw a girl with big, fearful eyes staring back at him, her tangled black hair framing her face perfectly.
