He will make you feel like royalty.
His hands that formed the earths and climbed the mountains will hold you before you break.
Oh, those sweet little nothings he whispers with his voice, your heart and your knees shake.
In each other's arms, you feel it is your kingdom, with him as the king and you as his queen.
With each other's love, it is the crown adorned with jewels and diamonds, worn not above your head but inside the heart. The love was beautiful. You ruled the world side by side,
With arms open wide and no secrets to hide.
The king and queen fought bravely; no wars cast aside.
And everything seemed to be okay, everything feels like it's all right.
Until it wasn't.Time passed by, and the kingdom started to fall apart.
He never changed, you see. He just became the barbaric leader that he is.
With his fist, he threw his queen to the ground, overpowered by the anger surging through him.
The queen was devastated, what happened to their love? What has she done wrong for things to come to this?
But she loved him so, and could not bear to leave. Not when their castle is crumbling to dust.In each and every day that she chose to stay, she had to confront his king transformed by his rage.
Their castle, once full of hopes and glee, once full of redamancy, all suddenly became a cage.
Is this what her kings calls "love?"
Their own war inside their own kingdom? She finally opt to leave than stay any longer.
Too much of an abusive "king", he has been to her.
In fact, she wasn't sure if she should still see him as one.
She chose to flee from their kingdom, wanting to make a castle of her own,
where she can rule in peace. She thought to herself as she walked away,
Purple might be the color of royalty,
but aren't bruises the same color too?--Note: I just wanted to clarify something.
Yes, I wrote this in the perception of a girl. But that does not mean abusive relationships don't occur for guys too; it does, and quite more frequent than we think. That actually happens to go unnoticed because once a man speaks up about it, no one listens. And that is downright wrong.
Feminism is not and never has been misandry.
Feminism is fighting for equal rights for both men and women. If you are in an abusive relationship(Physically, verbally, etc), please think of yourself as well. You need to know what's right and what's wrong, and so does your partner. If he/she as pushed you down more times than pull you back up, you know something's not right.
Please take care.
