Amelia’s P.O.V:

Jogging down the corridor, wearing the clothes Frank had brought over for me this morning, the chains on my belt made a metallic clang with each step. I rounded the corner and stopped in my tracks as I overheard Ray and Party Poison talking in the next room. I got closer but without being seen.

“Ray, you know how I feel about this, why can’t Frank do it, he seems to get on with her” Party poison said

“Listen, poison, It was your idea she stays here so we can ‘know her deal’, so you should stay to keep your eye on her, get to know her, see if she is dodgy, which I doubt” Ray replied

“Ray, she won’t be comfortable with me asking her questions when I won’t even tell her my name now will she?”

“Hey, not my problem dude, you said she could stay, so you just volunteered yourself, loosen up mate”

I could hear footsteps so I began to walk in as if I wasn’t ease dropping.

“Hey, I was just coming to talk to you” Ray said as we crossed paths

“Oh yeah?” I asked

“Me and the boys are going on a little errand, so Poison here is going to be taking you for the day” Ray said placing his hands on my shoulder and facing me towards Party Poison.

“Ray I…” Poison began

“Thanks mate” Ray called as he walked out the door. Party poison just sighed and sat down as I stood there awkwardly.

“Don’t worry, I’m not happy about this either” he said from his seat as he began to twirl his gun in his hands

“Oh I don’t know, I’m not bothered really, it could be, fun” I said half-heartedly at which he just scoffed

“Well, I suppose you better sit down then” he sighed. I rounded the seats and sat opposite him, looking at my palms as I played with my hands. “So what’s your deal?” he asked outright making me look up at him as he looked out of the window.

“Huh?” I asked

“Why are you on the run? What’s your story” he asked. I could tell he wanted to find out if I was unreliable but I could also tell he didn’t really care too much about my story. I needed these guys to trust me, they had given me food and shelter and I couldn’t go back to my past, not now, so I had to tell them what I could.

“Well, I’m not going to kill you, if that’s what you think” I tried to joke “and I’m on the run because, well it’s kind of a long story” I began

“Oh yeah?” Party Poison muttered

“I, didn’t like where I live it wasn’t, nice, and I had to get away.”

“What do you mean?” he asked wearily

“Well, I lived with my uncle, and I needed a new start” I reply

“Why were you living with your uncle?”

“Well, when I was young, my parents were going out, I was meant to be going with them but I didn’t want to go. They were, attacked in their car, people tried to tell me it was a car crash but I found out it wasn’t. Somebody was waiting for them in the trees and they, they blew up the car. Killing them both, so my uncle took me in” I explained, reliving it all.

“Oh, I’m sorry to hear that” he replied, appearing softer than he first displayed

“It’s okay, it was years ago, I’m over it”

“Why didn’t you like living with your uncle?”

“He, just ignored me, I hardly saw him, it was pointless staying there”
