The secret

It all started 1 year ago when I found out I was a princess...

(flash back)

"Mom!" I yelled.

"yeah"she said back.

"can i go to Megan's house!" I yelled out.

My mom had to come upstairs because she couldn't hear me over the T.V. blasting noise in the kitchen

"I asked if I can go to Megan's house."

"Yeah, you can. Ask if your staying over for dinner" my mom instructed before heading out of my room and back to the kitchen.

"she said yes." I quickly said into the phone.

"wait, mom! She wants to know if I can sleepover" I yelled at her retreating back. "OK." She called up the stairs.

Before I went to Megan's I over heard my parents speaking to each other.

"when are we going to tell her?" My mom asked quietly. Tell me what? I asked my self. I decided to keep eavesdropping.

"She's going to be 13 soon, we have to tell-" my mom cut my dad off

"shes going to Megan's I'll talk to her in the car on the way to Megan's."

Talk to me about what? Millions of questions kept running through my head. I heard my mom coming towards the kitchen door.

I was recording my parent's conversation to show Megan so I put my phone in my back pocket and ran up the stairs quickly. I placed my phone in my bag and made it look like I was packing. My mom came upstairs and asked if I was ready I quickly threw my last few things into my bag and said "yeah" I swung my bag over my shoulder and turned to her, "but mom I heard you and dad talking about me. what was that all about?"

"O, uh, nothing"she stuttered nervously. I could tell my mom was lying but decided to worry about it later. I'll ask her in the car.

"Okay mom, I know your hiding something. spill" I spoke once I was seated in the passenger's seat of my mom's car. Nicole sighed softly, looking at me. "promise you won't be mad or upset, or cry?" she asked. I nodded. "okay... so tell me."

My mom looked at me. "Honey, your a princess." I looked at her and chuckled softly. "I'm sorry, did you just say I was a princess?" I asked. "I mean it. You are the princess of the Lunar Kingdom" She said, shaking her head and smiling faintly at me.

(flash back over. back to present.)

"Um, ok and why am I just hearing this now?" I asked. "Because, it was for your own saftey. There are men out to get to you, we aren't even sure who." Nicole said, frowning.

"Um ok..." I said, sitting back in my seat. Not really believing her.

When we finally arrived at Megan's I said hello to her parents quickly and dragged Megan up the stairs. "So, in the car my mom said that I was a princess. That's crazy right?" I asked her,  Meg looked at me. "I don't know. Why would your mom lie-" At that moment she stopped and listen to the recording. It was true, I was a princess.
