The story doesn't really kickoff, until a couple chapters on, so sorry if the first few chapters are a little boring.

"Ah we finally finish are shifts, and we get stuck with picking her up... brilliant." I say with a saddened sigh.
"Hey come on you haven't seen her in about half a year, cheer up a bit." Ish replied with a grin; there was a slight bit of motivation behind his smile. I let out a deep breath and looked at Ish, I gave him what was a 'attempt' of a smile back, only to be responded with a look of slight concern and disgust. This was one of many reasons why I never smile.
After fifth-teen odd minutes of idly standing around, waiting for the announcement of the plane's arrival. A 'ding-dong' sound goes off, echoing through the waiting lobby. Me and Ish quickly get prepared to greet her. The announcement says. "This is an announcement. Flight 381 is landing. Flight 381 is landing." A 'ding-dong' sound goes off again signalling the end of the announcement. Once it ends me and Ish walk over to wait for her. A dozen or so people come off, yet still no sign of her. "Come on where is she!" I say with a panicked tone. I squint me eyes, trying to peer through the crowd, when Ish taps my shoulder and points to a figure that stood out from everyone else. "Yep that's definitely her." I think to myself. "HEY NEE-CHAN OVER HERE!" I shout towards in her general direction. She then turns towards us and smiles. "Shut up, I'm coming OK!" She retorts back. I give her a big hug, and so does Ish. "It's been a while hasn't it? I haven't seen you since the wedding, how you been?" I ask her.
"Yeah it's been a while, I'm doing good though. You?"
"I'm fine."
"What about you Ish, you and Gelly okay?"
"Oh me and Gelly we're fine, apart from the never ending arguments." Nee-chan lets out a small giggle. I look at my watch and realise that we're gonna be late for the meeting. "Shit! Guys come on we need to get a move on or we'll be late!" I warn Ish and Nee-chan. We quickly leave out into the parking lot, get in the car and drive off.
As Ish is trying to get through traffic as quickly as he can, I turn around to the back seats and try to make conversation with Nee-chan. "So how is that old bastard doing then?" Nee-chan gave me a amused yet annoyed expression in response.
"You mean Lewis? He's been a bit stressed recently with work."
"Stressed?"
"Yeah, apparently the higher-ups are piling work on to him."
"Must be tough being a General I guess." "It's funny, I would have never thought he would become a General in a million years! I guess miracles do happen then."
"I think everyone was surprised."
"Well enough about that, I still haven't asked you about you're honeymoon have I? So how was it? Details!"
"Oh our honeymoon was amazing, we were at the villa enjoying the scenery while drinking some vodka. It was superb!"
"Sounds nice, so what else did you two do together?" After saying that Nee-chan's face starts to turn red after probably remembering. "Well I think I already know what else they 'did'." I think to myself as she turns more red.
"W-we just d-did some t-things that's all... s-sorta." She embarrassingly says. I answer back with a evil grin.
"Hey guys sorry to butt into your little chit-chat, but you need to look at the sky!" Ish exclaims as the car stops at a sudden halt. Me and Nee-chan look up, and what we see sent pure fear surging through our very souls. "W-what's going on?!" Nee-chan asks with a confused and very worried voice. I try to reply, but the words seem to have vanished from my voice. The sky had become bleached with a thick crimson blood-like red. "What the fuck could've caused the sky to become like this?!"
"James we need to get back to Parliament, I think we may find out what's causing this... unnatural phenomenon there." I shove the thought at the back of my head and snap out of the shock, then I simply give Ish a nod and he starts the car. I grab a panicking Nee-chan by the shoulders. "Don't worry we'll find out what's happening and fix it, so in the mean time I want you to contact Lewis and see if he knows anything." Nee-chan takes one look and smiles with a nod.
USA, Nevada Desert, Military Base

"General Sims, sir!" A voice yells.
"What is it Corporal, can't you see I'm trying to deal with a crisis here!" Lewis bellows.
"W-well sir its your wife, she's on the line."
"Nikki?" Lewis thinks, puzzled. "Give me the phone."
"Y-yes sir!"
"Thank you Corporal, you are dismissed!" The Corporal leaves the tent in a hurry. There is a long pause of silence. "... Nish?"
"LEW!" Lewis jumps up startled. "Oh thank god I reached you."
"What's wrong? Did you get there safely?! Are you okay?!" He says in a panicked rush.
"Calm down I'm fine I made it safely don't worry. Anyway I need to know, if you know anything about the red sky?"
"Yes, we're trying to deal with the chaos that's spreading because of it. How's it up on your end?"
"It's terrible, there's rioting and looting throughout the country. Oh but don't I'm with Nii-chan and Ish so I'm fine." She reassures him.
"Ah that's good to hear. Anyway I'm glad to know your in safe hands."
"So do have any idea why this is happening?"
"I'm sorry, but all I know is that it's happening around the globe. Apart from that I'm just as confused as you are. So in the meantime I want you stay with those two. Okay?"
"Don't worry I will. Please tell me if you find anything else about this strange... 'phenomenon'."
"I will. I love you."
"I love you too. Please stay safe."
