Chapter 5

(A/N: I AM SOOO SORRY FOR THE VERY LATE UPDATE!!! T-T MY FRIENDS DIDN'T UPDATE THIS BOOK AFTER I ALREADY SENT THE CHAPTER TO THEM!! GOMENASAI, MINNA!! AND I WAS TOO FIXATED ON MY ONE-SHOTS BOOK THAT I ALMOST FORGOT ABOUT THIS!! SMUMIMASEN, SHINIMASE, WHATEVER! I'M SORRY.

HERE IS CHAPTER 5!)

Yuri's first subject period was already over. She didn't bother waiting for Misaki and Asaka, and just headed directly to the locker room.

She spun her locker combination and opened it, then got her attire, badminton racket and shuttlecock and closed the locker again. She changed into her attire (of course, not inside the locker room) and went to the field.

There was no problem at all since her next subject period was Physical Education. She then saw Aira, her rival from last year. She approached her with a smile and challenged her into a match, which Aira gladly accepted.

The match was going smoothly, well smoothly until she noticed that somebody passed by. He was Mitsusada Kenji, one of her rivals from middle school.

Although they weren't classmates nor schoolmates, they know each other since they met in a competition. And more so, they were even matched up for the final fight. Yuri defeated Kenji, with a score of 23-25. (A/N: I don't really play badminton, so I'm sorry if the scores are mistaken..)

"Mitsusada Kenji, also known as Koutei..." She muttered. Aira smirked and did a smash, thus causing Yuri to lose since she didn't notice it.

"Focus, Usui." Aira said with a smile as they shook hands.

"Yeah, same to you, Kagami." Yuri replied, also smiling. "I guess that this sets up a tie, then?" She added, making Aira nod in agreement.

"Yep. Now got to go, Mikaera is waiting for me." She bade goodbye to her rival. As soon as Aira was out of sight, Yuri sighed.

"Even if you lost, it was a nice game, Usui." She heard a familiar voice. Yuri turned around and saw that it was Kenji.

"Was that supposed to be sarcasm, Mitsusada Kenji?" She asked back with a glare, making the other teen raise one hand in defense.

"Now, now. It was a compliment, Usui. And also, is it really necessary to call me by my surname and given name?" He asked again.

"In my perspective, it was. Now if you'll excuse me." Yuri was about to leave when Kenji stopped her. "What do you want?"

"I challenge you, Usui Yuri. It has been 2 years, and I want to battle against you again." He told her.

"There are other people here who are better than me-" Yuri got interrupted.

"I know, but I want to challenge you." He said with a smile. "Or...Unless you're scared of losing to me?" He added, causing the girl to scoff.

"I already defeated you, and I'll do it again. Bring it on." Yuri accepted his challenge with a glare.

"You're on." Kenji said and went to one side of the court (or field?), Yuri going to the other side. "Ready?" He asked, making Yuri nod. (A/N: My thoughts: Stand up, Vanguard!)

Kenji was the one who would serve the shuttlecock first. He did an ace, making Yuri sigh. "Don't hold back and go easy on me, Usui. My skills are better compared to my skills 2 years ago. Don't underestimate me." Kenji said and Yuri nodded.

Omg it's too short. And it has been 3 or 4 months...Maybe even 5...

I'm unworthy of your reads guys... Yeah...

And very important: My parents transferred me to a school with very high standards, and I am aiming to get an scholarship and an honor ranking. (Grades must be at least 93)
