“I’m so fucking bored.” Logan moaned, throwing another piece of the pad of paper next to the hotel phone into the air and rolling over onto her stomach. Murmurs of ascent came from all over the room. Nawzli was arched over a chair, while Janine, Logan and Kadence were sprawled on the beds.
“Where’s Kaylynn, it has been two hours.” Janine groaned, reaching for her phone on the bedside table.
“KAYLYNN.” Logan half-yelled, rolling back onto her back.
“Productive.” Kadence rolled her eyes. “You can’t summon her.”
“SHIT OW!” Nawzli burst though the irritable small talk and a soft thud followed by a larger one rang dully through the room. The girls all sat up from their lazy positions to see Nawzli writhing on the floor, her phone inches from her. “I DROPPED MY PHONE ON MY FACE.” The thrashing girl whined, “AND THEN I FELL.”Kadence started laughing really loudly, and Logan jumped to her feet to help Nawzli up, also chuckling slightly. Janine’s tinkling laugh joined them as Nawzli stood up fixing her hair and bending down to pick up her phone. “It’s been forever where the fuck is Kaylynn.” She said irritably unlocking her newly retrieved phone and trying not to laugh at her own odd faux-pas.
“I should have known.” A new, but familiar voice interrupted their laughter. “I could hear you all down the hall.”
“KAYLYNN!” Logan scrambled towards the older girl, throwing her arms around her and hugging her tightly.
“Hey Logan.” She giggled, blushing and hugging her back softly.
“Thank fuck you’re finally here I’m hungry.” Logan joked as she helped Kaylynn move her bag onto the precarious pile of suitcases in the center of the room.
“Glad to know that I’m wanted.” Kaylynn countered sarcastically, rolling her eyes.
Logan flipped around sticking her tongue out immaturely, causing ripples of laughter throughout the room.
“So… food? I’m game if you all are.” Logan asked. The replies of agreement were so instantaneous that her question was basically rhetorical, and they set out of the room. Kaylynn murmured something halfheartedly about just arriving and not being settled but the atmosphere of the other four chuckling girls made it hard for anyone to be unhappy.
They walked together until they reached Janine’s Toyota, and started clambering in. Kaylynn threw herself in the back first, followed by Nawzli and then Kadence. “Do I not get a say in this?” Janine protested irritably, crossing her arms over her chest keys in hand.
“Nope.” Four voices said together and the incessant laughter swelled before dying down again. Janine stood outside, refusing to get into the car.
“Guys it is literally a fifteen minute walk to this pizza place.” She stood her ground and the others climbed out of the car groaning about walking.
“It’s only a mile you three shut up.” Kadence snapped lightheartedly and both Nawzli and Kaylynn started a story at the same time reigniting the laughter that had only been absent a few minutes.
Fifteen minutes later they were stumbling into the pizzeria, giggling hysterically at a story about Kaylynn’s sister’s creepy friend. “It isn’t funny she watched me sleep!” Kaylynn exclaimed, causing Logan to nearly collapse with laughter in the doorway of the restaurant. Janine pushed her through the door, laughing herself. Kaylynn tried to scowl but failed, “Fine guys shut up, what are we getting?”
“Large cheese?” Kadence suggested, “We can split the cost it shouldn’t be too bad.”
“But-” Janine started, then she blushed when everyone looked at her, “I like pepperoni.” She mumbled.
“I’ll split a small with you,” Nawzli interjected. “I love everything.” She smiled and walked over to figure cost with Janine.
“Large cheese good for you two?” Kadence directed to Kaylynn and Logan, who nodded and started rummaging through bags to find their wallets. They ordered and waited, joking more about the days to come.
By the time they had eaten and were ready to walk balk to the hotel night had fallen and the city lights gleamed artificially. The streets, despite being well lit, were still a bit unnerving and the crazy laughter that had accompanied them on the way there was gone as they travelled back. The sound of a car’s horn caused Logan to jump and grab Janine’s arm, Kaylynn giggled at the younger girl and Logan scowled.
In no time, as they’d walked faster out of nervousness and without distractions, they were approaching their hotel and they all sped up unintentionally and piled quickly into the lobby where they burst into the inevitable giggles again. Their sudden noise earned a glare from the receptionist and a grin from a young guy sitting on one of the many plush couches. He was attractive ad seemed particularly interested in Kaylynn who blushed bright red and fell silent when she realized the attention. Logan had also noticed and she shepherded their group to the elevator.
Kaylynn groaned animatedly when Kadence pushed open the door, “I didn’t even unpack my shit.” She moaned, walking over to her suitcase and eyeing it dejectedly.
“Not to mention you also don’t know where you’re sleeping…”
The four girls had claimed their beds and were all sprawled on them in different ways looking at her cheerily. “Fuck you guys.” She launched herself onto Janine and Nawzli, and exclamations of pain and profanities followed as the three girls wrestled.
“FINE FINE YOU CAN SLEEP WITH US!” Janine cried breathlessly, clutching her side and trying to recover from the tickling she’d just endured. Kaylynn smiled smugly and hopped up to unpack her things.
“Well while you fuckers have decided to be idiots we’ve discovered something useful.” Logan retorted rolling her eyes as Kadence nodded.
“They’ve just finished their concert.” Kadence continued, grinning. “Which means…?” She prompted.
“THEY’VE JUST LEFT THEY’RE ON THEIR WAY C’MON GUYS.” Logan exploded after a minute of silence and her words incited squeaking and applause.
“I’m going to meet him.” Five voices said in synchronization.
