We didn't talk much on the walk home. It looked like Drake had a lot on his mind again. I wish he could tell me what was going on in his mind. He doesn't have to keep everything a secret.
Drake suddenly stopped. It was so sudden, I also fell into him. He turned to look at me with his angry red eyes. I didn't even look him in the face.
"Are you okay?" He asked me. When I looked back up, I notice that he was examining my body. He was doing his usual search for scars and stuff. I knew already he wasn't going to find any cuts or bruise. The little people fought with me but, they weren't trying to hurt me.
"Y-y-yeah," I whispered, looking at the ground again. When he was satisfied, we continued walking again.
It didn't take as long as I expected to get home. It was only an hour and a half walk. Though it was cold and snowing, Drake didn't forget about me. He gave me his coat and scarf. He didn't shiver at all and he was wearing only a sweater. I was wearing his coat and scarf and I was shaking in my dress.
Once we got inside, I didn't bother to take the dress off. I just got in my bed and lied down. Tonight was too much to take in.
After ten minutes, Drake joined me on the bed. To not disturb how I was lying, he went around the bed and climb up it to be by the window. We stayed there in silences for a while, just like we usually do. Staring at the ceiling.
After a while, I felt the need to break the silences.
"Dr-Dr-Drake?" I started.
He didn't say anything but knowledge that I called him by moving a little closer to me.
"Can-can I ask you something?"
Again Drake moved by this time, he shifted toward me.
"How-how did you find me-me?" I asked. I was curious. This was not the first time he just knew where I was. He seems to always know where I am.
I turned toward him to find that usual look in his eyes. He stared at me for good moment. It looked like he was debating if he should explain it to me or not. He then sighed and started talking.
"We're connected now. You know, since the blood thing. I can tell or how far you are by your thoughts, especially when you call for me. It's stronger. Besides, I've been watching this guy since he got here. I didn't trust him and I was right. He not your father."
I scrum up my face and sat up, feeling very confused. Drake knew? He knew this whole time.
"If-If you knew why-why didn't you say something?" I asked, looking at him. He didn't bother to look back at me. He was too busy looking into the dark.
"I second guess myself. I've been watching the trolls since they got into town. They been here since the beginning of winter. What I notice was that they were moving in to stay. I don't know a lot of things about trolls but one thing I do know is that when they start to move in, they are in a process of looking for a queen. I didn't think it was you, at the time. I was just watching. Plus, I need some blood source and thought maybe I could take them.
"When I was watching around one, I got attack by their stupid demon dog and it nearly killed me. I knew when it was happening I had to leave as soon as possible because I knew you were feeling it too. I shouldn't have been so selfish. I wasn't watching them closely since then"
That must have been the night when something was horribly wrong with me. Drake was being attacked.
"When your father walked in and was running the place, I knew something fishy was going on. Especially when I couldn't get into the house. Your dad happen to return when the trolls showed up in town? Something wasn't matching up and I was right.

Short StoryDumbfounded, I left. I entered my room to find Drake sitting on the bed. "What's wrong with you? Your emotion seem in shock," he commented. A tear started to develop in my eyes. Now in a more serious tone, Drake said, "Alice? What's wrong Alice...
