Leeroy's P.O.V.

Gosh. I totally just admitted to liking her. This is bad. Oh well, hopefully she didn't notice... I bet she did. She's so smart how could she not notice?! I better just call off tonight. At least I won't humiliate myself more. But maybe I should just let her call it off instead so that I don't make it seem like it was something she did. Good thing we're going to her house and not mine! My family would embarrass me, not on purpose no no. But they would make a big deal about me having a friend, and my first friend being my long time love. And I tell my parents everything, so of course they would know about her. I just hope everything goes well tonight..

Well the school day seemed short, which is odd because you would think it would seem long. Having to wait to go to her house, and just getting back into the school routine. But it was fast and easy. She's in almost all my classes, and we even get to sit next to each other in some! The teachers must've realized that a kind, sweet girl like her would do good next to an below-average, nerdy boy like me. Or maybe it's because we have similarities in those classes. Whatever it is, I'm happy.

Even though the school day was short, the bus ride seemed to take forever. She was sitting by her other friends, and I had to sit alone until we got to her stop and she motioned me to get off here.

"I live right up the road from here, so I can walk and you can take my skateboard. Or if you really want to you can walk." She states. I really don't want to walk, but I don't wanna be the nerd on the skateboard. I hope she doesn't try to give me a makeover... I dress like I do because I see how jocks are and frankly, if I dressed better, I'd probably be a jock, not a nerd. But maybe I should let her give me a makeover so she gets 'the feels' for me. No, if she's going to like me, it's not going to be for my looks. Well maybe...

"Leeroy. Leeroy!" I hear her practically yelling in my ear.

"Do you want to take the skateboard or walk?!"

"Oh oh I'll just walk."

"Hey Leeroy, I was wondering..." Is this the moment? Will she ask me something about my feelings? Should I kiss her? Before I jump to any conclusions or get stuck daydreaming again, I should just let her keep talking.

"You were wondering what?"

"Well I know you have a great personality..." Oh my. Is she going to admit to something? Like liking me? How is this possible? What's happening?! Is today the day that-

"And I was wondering if you'd be willing to possibly look as great as you seem. Well, no promises. But we can try." She says, smiling. Ugh there goes her dimples again.

"Uh uh... Maybe... But.. Umm... Do you write stories? Poetry? Any type of writing?" I panicked and switched the subject. But when I asked, she blushed.

"Uh yeah. Well kinda... It's just more of a personal blog. An anonymous blog. I'd rather not share it. Well not tonight. Probably not anytime soon either..." She tucks a piece of her hair behind her ear and drops her head. I hope it's not anything I said or did. She seemed pretty embarrassed. Does she write funny little cute and quirky things? Or does she write deep, emotional things? Maybe she just writes about her life, that could be as embarrassing as anything, well at least for people like me. But she doesn't seem like she gets bullied or anything. She actually seems to have a perfect life. All the boys want her, her grades get even better every time I see her name on the honor roll, and she is the sweetest girl I've ever seen. Speaking of having a perfect life, we turn and pull into her driveway that leads to her house, which looks more like a mansion. So she's beautiful, smart, kind, and wealthy. A sudden stimuli snaps me out of my day dreaming, once again. My phone was vibrating and ringing. I take it out of my pocket and look at the caller I.D.

'Mom'

I answer it.

"Hello?" I answer questioningly.

"Lee, where are you?" Dang I forgot to call her. Stupid stupid stupid me. I look up and see Blakely staring at me, but after a second she looks away and picks up her skateboard.

"I'm at a friends house and I'm just gonna hang out here for a while if that's fine with-" she cuts me off.

"A friend? A friend! Oh what's his name? Or her name? Is it a boy? Or is it a girl? Oh Leeroy honey tell me more!"

"Later mom. I have to go. I'll call you later. Bye."

"Love you sweetie!"

"Love you too mom." I mumble into the phone before hanging up. I look up and see Blakely waiting there patiently.

"Sorry, my mom called. I kind of forgot to tell her I was coming over."

"It's totally fine. Do you wanna hang outside for a while? We have a swing-set for my little brother and sister. They love it. Sometimes I just sit on the swing and think..." She looks down and tucks her hair again. After a moment of silence she said, "or we can go down to my... I'm not sure what it is. But that's my other place of peace." She gives a fake smile, and I can just tell she's keeping something inside that she needs to tell someone. I don't know how to ask, but maybe it will just come out.

"Let's go to your 'place of peace.'" I smile and she leads the way.
