I walked into my first class, hands trembling with nerves. The classroom was surprisingly empty. I seated myself at the back of the classroom and opened my timetable to double check I didn't get the periods mixed up. Suddenly, the door was pushed open and a bunch of students came strolling in, laughing and chatting loudly.
I sat quietly in the the back of the classroom, wishing I could be invisible from the rest of the world. Of course, unfortunately I was in a new school and hadn't any friends yet. It didn't take very long for everyone to come down to my desk and ask questions, as they were curious about the new girl joining them this year.
"So why did you come to Beacon Hills?" A boy asked me, putting his hand on my desk. I glanced at it and gulped.
"Did you get kicked out of your old school?" A tall girl questioned, obviously chewing gum.
"What did you do?"
"Did you push a teacher down a stairs? I heard some kid did that once and got expelled."
A bunch of other Teenagers were crowded around my table now.
I felt my whole body tremble. Oh, no. Not now, Sarah don't stress out, it's your first day. As much as some individuals love receiving attention, I wasn't one of those people. I get quite nervous easily.
"Excuse me. Sorry." A familiar dark haired boy squeezes through the crowd and grabs a seat next to me.
Everyone takes a step back. He smirks that cute way where his mouth slightly moves to the side. Abruptly, the door creeks open. A muscular, middle aged man wearing a blue jumper and brown pants walks in, holding a thick maths textbook in his hand.
"Right, settle down find a seat" the man says.
"Are you okay?" Stiles says looking concerned.
"I'm fine...just trying to get used to this."
The teacher began to speak at the top of the class. "I'm Mr O' Leary and I'll be your maths teacher this year. Now-"
The door swings open again. A girl arrives in with several books in her arms, some not even for maths. She had ginger hair, green eyes and freckles dotted across her pale face. She looked confused at first, before she spotted Stiles. She smiles and waves, accidentally dropping her books in the process. The red head picks them up in a bundle and strolls towards Stiles and I. She grabs a chair and plonks down next to us,the class silently watching her.
"Oh, sorry" She apologised casually. "I was in the bathroom."
"Right. Anyway, as I was saying, open your maths books on page 70 we are starting with algebra."
The whole class groans and a few sarcastic remarks are heard in response.
"Ahh, come on algebra is fun!" he lied with a smile growing on his face.
"Pssssst Stiles." The girl hissed, throwing her pencil at Stiles's face.
"Ouch! Gemma, I'm not deaf, I can hear you."
"Right, sorry! Where is Kayleigh today?"
"Well...let's just say she's...having car trouble...?"Stiles answered, but it sounded more like a question.
"What do you mean? Kayleigh doesn't have a car and besides you are the one who usually brings her to school." Gemma reminded him, matter-of-factly
"Well she wouldn't get up.... So I left her..." He said. The red haired girl was not pleased.
"STILES!" Gemma exclaims, sounding louder then she intended to. The whole class went quiet again and they turned back to face her. You could nearly hear a pin drop.
"What?"
"Gemma, please stop disturbing the class." Mr O' Leary sighed, obviously used to it from the previous year.
"Okay" Gemma says, smirking back at him. However, few minutes into class, Gemma starts talking again.
"So who's your friend?"
"Sarah." stiles and I say in unison. Gemma gives us a weird look, raising her eyebrows before speaking. "Well, hello Sarah. Welcome to Beacon Hills."
