I stand there shocked for a moment, but then I come to grips and slam the door locking it. When I turn around there's three more of them standing there. Their mouths hanging open, inhaling my scent. I wish I didn't have to inhale their's. I back up against the wall. I'd left all my weapons on the porch. All I had now was the sword.

I swing my sword over my head just as the first one lunges. It stabs him through the eye and makes an awful squelching sound as I pull it out. The next one comes at me more slowly. I easily slice its head clean off and blood rains upon the walls. Its thick and smells like sewage.

I'd almost forgotten about the third. I swirl around to face the threat, but I'm too late. The corpse of the infected falls on the ground. A bullet lodged in between its eyebrows.

"Hey! That was my kill!" I look around to find the culprit. 

A hand clamps around my mouth from behind.

"Be quiet. There's loads of them out there. The more noise you make the longer it'll take for them to leave."

I slump in my attackers arms trying to play off as the weak little girl to get away.

"Whoa, get up girlie, you're about to impale yourself with your own sword."

I pry the fingers away from my mouth, " Let me go or you're getting impaled instead."

"Haha, feisty aren't you."

I turn around to look at the person who attacked me. It's a man. He looks to be about 18 or 19, tall, with a blond mohawk. He's wearing an anarchy shirt.

"No way! You're punker than I am!"

He opens his mouth then closes it.

"Or not," I turn around to pick up my sword but before I reach it the man grabs my wrist.

"Don't be stupid with that," He points to the sword.

"I kill infected. Not people."

"What makes you think they're not people," he says.

"Well for starters, look at em."

He nods in agreement, "I'm Beau."

"Beau?"

He nods, "Yea it's short for beautiful."

"Haha very funny."

He laughs, "What about you tiger?"

"Tiger?"

He shrugs.

"I'm Katie."

He smiles halfheartedly, "Hi Katie."

"Guess we're partners for now," I elbow his arm.

"Yea, partners."
